(Angevine) Ackert; pentagon employee, gardener COLEBROOK — Katherine E. (Angevine) Ackert, 68, died on November 1, 2003 at Concord Hospital after complications from back surgery. She was born on September 28, 1935 in Upton, Me., a daughter of John and Gladys (Lombard) Angevine. Mrs. Ackert was a 1953 graduate of Gould Academy. She was a civil servant of the Department of Defense, working at the Pentagon until her retirement. Mrs. Ackert enjoyed quilting, gardening, crafts and helping with church functions. She also enjoyed traveling and attending craft shows. The family includes five brothers and sisters, Avery Angevine and Ernest Angevine, both of Bethel, Me., Carrie Holt of Berlin, Mary Agnes Deblois of Shelburne and John Angevine of Stewartstown; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours were held on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook, with a funeral service following at Monadnock Congregational Church in Colebrook, with the Rev. Oliver Northcott officiating. An interment service followed at Upton Cemetery in Upton, Me. Memorial donations may be made to Monadnock Congregational Church in care of the Rev. Oliver Northcott, Main Street, Colebrook, NH 03576. Desjardins, 68, of Cabin Fever Lane, died on Sunday evening November 2, 2003 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon. Roland was born in Nashua on August 3, 1935, the son of Auguste and Josephine (Michaud) Desjardins. Raised in Nashua, he was a graduate of Nashua High School. He served for a time with the Air Force and later made a career in law enforcement. Roland worked several years for the Nashua Police Department. He then became a New Hampshire State Trooper and moved north to Jefferson. For 26 years he served as a trooper, retiring in 1984 as a Detective Sergeant. He then started his 19-year career as a field liaison officer for NESPIN (New England State Police Information Network). His territory included New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts. He was a longtime member of the N.H. State Police Association and the American Polygraph Association. Roland also enjoyed camping. Family members include his wife of 47 years, Juliette (Taschereau) Desjardins of Jefferson; two daughters, Diane Boutin and Denise D. Desjardins both of Jefferson; and three grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday afternoon and evening, November 5 (today), from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Bailey Funeral Home, Lancaster. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11 at All Saints Church, Lancaster. The Rev. Raymond Ball, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lancaster. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to a charity of one’s choice. Wilma L. Hodge; Farmer, Grange member COLEBROOK — Wilma L. Hodge, 85, died on October 29, 2003 at Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown. She was born on September 8, 1918 in Clarksville, the daughter of Willie and Lila (Pond) Crawford. Mrs. Hodge attended elementary school in East Colebrook and was graduated from Colebrook Academy, Class of 1937. She married Celon Hodge Sr. on January 8, 1938. Mrs. Hodge and her husband ran a farm for many years in Stewartstown. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and had been a longtime member of Mohawk Grange. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. The family includes a son, Celon George Hodge Jr. of Stewartstown; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Sylvia) Goodrum and Norma Hodge, both of Colebrook; a brother, Kenneth Crawford of Colebrook; a sister, Zella Kenney of Colebrook; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visiting hours were held on Saturday at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook and funeral services held at Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Priscilla Hull officiating. Paquette; Teacher, supporter of missionaries CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Nelson L. Paquette, 64, of Chelmsford, Mass., a business executive who was also an active volunteer at a Bedford, Mass. church, died on Monday, October 27, 2003 in Chelmsford, Mass. He was the husband of Gwendolyn K. Paquette. He was born on November 19, 1938 in North Stratford, a son of Oral and Isabelle Paquette, and was educated in the Stratford school system. He received a bachelor’s degree in education at Plymouth State Teachers’ college. He was on the alumni board at Plymouth State University. Mr. Paquette was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Savior in Bedford, Mass., where he was very involved in supporting missionary work. His employment career included serving as regional director at Excel Communications, and as assistant director at Business Network International. Mr. Paquette worked with World Book Educational Products for more than 20 years and also had been a schoolteacher. He was an avid golfer. Besides his wife, his family includes three sons, Craig Paquette of Travelers Rest, S.C., Curt Paquette of Methuen, Mass. and Clark Paquette of Pabellon, Mexico; two daughters, Cheri Jo Perry of Greenville, S.C., and Christina Walsh of Westboro, Mass.; two stepsons, Douglas Powers and Stuart Powers, both of Chelmsford, Mass.; five brothers, Ronald Paquette of Leesburg, Fla., Gary Paquette of North Stratford; Peter Paquette of Smithtown, N.Y., Mark Paquette of Cortland, N.Y. and Barden Paquette of Hudson; a sister, Judith Bunnell of Portsmouth; 13 grandchildren, Jared, Andrew, Abigail, Jonathan, Kristen, Heather, Peter, Alycia, James, Victoria, Eva, Ana and Alena Paquette. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
