Ayvaz Jr. NEWTON - Leon A. Ayvaz Jr., 44, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at The Hospice Residence of Martin and St. Lucie, Stuart, Fla. He was born in Germany and resided in St. Lucie County, Fla., for 10 years. Mr. Ayvaz was a heavy equipment rigger and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 25. He is survived by his wife of three years, Janice Ayvaz of Newton; one son, Brett Tibbetts of Dover; his father, Leon A. Ayvaz Sr. of Jensen Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Arthur Ayvaz of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Heinz Ayvaz of Fort Pierce, Fla., and Steven Ayvaz of Port St. Lucie; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Schott and Melissa Schott, both of Newton; one grandchild; one nephew and several nieces. Blackadar SOUTH HAMPTON - Albert B. Blackadar, 74, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, in Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Portsmouth. He was born June 9, 1928, in Methuen, Mass., the son of the late Harry and Olive (Banks) Blackadar. He had resided in Florida before coming to South Hampton. He was a graduate of Haverhill (Mass.) High School and attended Berkshire Prep School. Mr. Blackadar founded Blackadar Insurance Agency, Plaistow, in 1973, which he sold in 1988, when he opened Blackadar Marine Insurance in So. Hampton, retiring in 2002. After his retirement he concentrated his efforts on restoring and showing classic wooden Chris Crafts. He also owned and operated Indian Hill Tree Farm, So. Hampton, after planting the first tree in 1989. In 2002 he received the "New Hampshire Farms of Distinction Award" from the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the Saggahew Lodge A.F. & A.M., and while in Haverhill he served on the Planning Board. He was an avid tuna fisherman having owned and operated several sport-fishing boats. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Martha A. (Kreeger) Blackadar of So. Hampton; two sons, Lloyd H. Blackadar of Hampstead, Albert B. and his wife Dorothy Blackadar of Searsport, Maine; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon Blackadar of Lithia, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, Pine St., Exeter, (off Route 108). Burial will be in So. Hampton Cemetery, So. Hampton. Calabrese Jr., 49, of 41 Holmeswood Drive, died Monday, March 24, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Route 495 in Lawrence, Mass. He was born in Lawrence and had resided in Sandown since 1978. He attended Austin Preparatory School in Reading, Mass., and was a 1972 graduate of Lawrence High School. Mr. Calabrese was a facilities engineer at the K-Mart Distribution Center in Billerica, Mass. He enjoyed golfing, restoring old cars and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patricia (Cannon) Calabrese; one son, Frank P. Calabrese III of Sandown; his mother, Lucille (Ricard) Calabrese of Lawrence; four sisters, Donna DiPippo of Lawrence, Elaine Woronko of Haverhill, Mass., and Gail Calabrese and Michele Levesque, both of Methuen, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., (Route 121A), Plaistow. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anne Church, Emerson Ave., Hampstead. Box 398, Hampstead, NH 03841. Lorraine M. Champion DANVILLE - Lorraine M. Champion, 82, of 34 Caleb Drive, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. She was born Feb. 10, 1921, in the family homestead in Williamstown, Pa., the daughter of the late Louis and Lida (Coles) Miller. She resided on Perkins Road at Rye Beach from 1953 until 1976, moving to Twin Mountain until 1986, when she retired to Spring Hill, Fla. She returned to New Hampshire in 2001. Mrs. Champion was a bookkeeper at Phillips Exeter Academy for several years. The widow of the Rev. Frederick A. Champion, her husband of 49 years who died in 1992, she is survived by one son and his wife, Gordon H. and Marie Champion of Danville; two daughters and their husbands, Laurie and Tom Healy of Lee, and Wendy and Ron Klukowski of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Lane Miller of Schenectady, N.Y., and Lawrence Miller of Lykens, Pa.; two sisters, Laura Underkoffler of Schenectady and Lois Welch of Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
