Demaine DANVILLE - Richard F. Demaine, 82, of 46 Pine St., died December 3, 2002, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1920, in Danville, the son of Merritt F. and Ethel (Rummery) Demaine. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 9, at noon in Center Cemetery, Danville, with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. A reception will be held following the service at the Danville Fire Association Hall, Main Street, Danville. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Shirley E. Kennedy EPPING - Shirley E. Kennedy, 69, of 56 North River Road, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Catholic Medical Center, Manchester. She was born Dec. 15, 1933, in Manchester, the daughter of Ernest and Gladys (Sowles) Ruiter. She had resided in Raymond and had lived in Epping for nine years. Mrs. Kennedy was a nurse’s aide at Elliot Hospital, Manchester, for several years. She had previously been a driver transporting the disabled. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Perron and Carol Hamel, both of Manchester, and Sharon Kennedy of Winchendon, Mass.; one son, John Kennedy of Newmarket; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family. She was predeceased by one daughter, Donna Marie Levasseur, who died in 1993. There are no calling hours. Memorial services were held Wednesday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping. Joel R. LaChance HAMPTON BEACH - Joel R. LaChance, 18, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, in Huggins Hospital, Wolfeboro, from complications of a life-long battle with cystic fibrosis. He was born July 20, 1984, the son of Robert W. and Donna J. (Buote) LaChance of Hampton Beach. He had resided in Hampstead and Atkinson before recently moving to Hampton Beach. Joel was a senior at Pinkerton Academy in Derry and was looking forward to his graduation. He was a mechanic who could fix anything. He enjoyed car and truck restoration. He was an expert welder and mastered the oxyacetylene torches, arc, mig and plasma welding. He enjoyed making all types of models, target shooting, woodworking and the family camp in Freedom. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Jessica C. LaChance of Derry and her partner, Darren Hudgins; one nephew; his paternal grandparents, Julian and Claire LaChance of Atkinson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Hampton. After cremation interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lawrence, Mass. Memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Inc., 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Arrangements were by the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, Hampton.
