Candora RAYMOND - Joseph J. Candora, 83, of Peach Tree Court, died July 16, 2003, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation, Lawrence, Mass. He was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Boston, the son of the late Peter and Margaret (Thatcher) Candora. He was raised in the Boston area and had resided in Tewksbury, Mass., before moving to Raymond four years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Candora was a merchandiser for Shenley Distributing. He was a former communicant and a member of the Knights of Columbus of St. Williams Church, Tewksbury. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards, outdoor activities, camping and hiking. The widower of Naomi (Owen) Candora, his wife of 52 years, who died July 30, 2002, he is survived by one son, Joseph P. Candora of Raymond; two daughters, Kathleen Geyer of Tewksbury and Patricia A. Demers of Sandown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dominic Candora of Cape Cod, Mass., George Candora of Hull, Mass., and Peter Candora of Weymouth, Mass.; one sister, Mary Mulvey of West Roxbury, Mass., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held July 19 in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond, with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Military burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. Eddy EPPING - James Benjamin Eddy, 52, of St. Laurent St., died Sunday, July 20, 2003, at his home after a brief illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1951, in Everett, Mass., the son of the late Harold M. and Ella M. (Griggs) Eddy. He was raised in Kingston and had resided in Epping since 1986. He was a 1969 graduate of Sanborn High School, Kingston. Mr. Eddy sold auto parts wholesale and retail over the counter at Car Parts of Epping for seven years. He was previously the manager at Napa Auto Parts in Derry for eight years and at Plaistow Tire Store for seven years, and was a mechanic at Stratham Tire in Derry for 11 years. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Rose (Young) Eddy of Epping; one son and his wife, Douglas and Jacqueline Eddy of Manchester; two brothers, Harold M. Eddy of Davenport, Fla., and Stephen W. Eddy of Raymond, and one niece and one nephew. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Epping Bible Baptist Church, Route 27, Epping, with the Rev. Ron Townsend officiating. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Bank North, 53 Church St., Kingston, NH 03848. John M. Mayo Jr. RAYMOND - John M. "Jak" Mayo Jr., 69, of Old Fremont Road, died Monday, July 21, 2003, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 25, 1934, in Cambridge, Mass., the son of the late John M. and Evelyn (White) Mayo Sr. He was raised in Wellesley, Mass., and had resided in Raymond for 16 years. He was a graduate of Wellesley High School and of Wentworth Institute. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Mayo worked for AT&T on the long lines, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Ray-Fre Senior Center and the Senior Bowling League at Lakeside Lanes in Auburn. He enjoyed gardening and candlepin bowling. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, M. Joyce (Baxter) Mayo of Raymond; three sons, James M. Mayo of Middleton, Conn., John M. Mayo of Ayer, Mass. and Joseph M. Mayo of Newmarket; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There are no services planned. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond.
