Banks EXETER - Stanley Curtis Banks, 72, of Chestnut Street, died September 1, 2003, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Massachusetts, the son of the late Albert and Bertha (Shaw) Banks. He was raised in Massachusetts and had been a longtime resident of Exeter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Banks was a mechanic for Perkins Construction in Raymond. In his younger years he spent time as a race car driver and mechanic while living in the south. He enjoyed making leather products. The widower of Irma Banks, who died in 1992, he is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ellsworth and Lynda Zych, both of Seabrook; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bruce Banks of Nottingham, Robert Banks of Manchester and Alister Banks of Maine; one sister, Mildred Ladd of Munson, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 14, from 2 to 6 p.m. at 72 Middle Road, Route 111A, Brentwood. For directions call 772-9631. Harrigan Sr., 75, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born March 16, 1928, in Batavia, N.Y., and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving with a tank battalion in Germany and Czechoslovakia and also served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Harrigan was a repairman for Valley Tree and Kenoza Vending Machine. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Haverhill, Mass.,; Lorraine Post No. 29, Veterans of Foreign Wars; and AMVET Post No. 147. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Doris M. (Greer) Harrigan; one daughter, Linda M. Ellenwood of Raymond; and one grandson. He was predeceased by one son, Richard T. Harrigan Jr. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, Haverhill. Burial was in Center Cemetery, Danville. Regina M. Fossett LOWELL, Mass. - Regina M. Fossett, 87, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Northwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lowell, from complications following a stroke. She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Medford, Mass., the daughter of Wilfred and Annaeise LaPlante. Mrs. Fossett was a kitchen manager at St. John’s Hospital and was a caterer in the 1970s. She was an active member of the Residents Society at Northwood. She was well known for her honky-tonk singing and entertaining at Northwood. She survived by three daughters, Regina Naumnik of Florida, Louise Ryan of Kansas and Priscilla Clements of Raymond; one son, James Cooper of Tewksbury, Mass.; 17 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. There are no services planned. The family requests that in lieu of flowers each person do as Mrs. Fossett requested and "do what makes them happy."
