Bowman KINGSTON - Mary A. (Moyette) Bowman, 89, of 21 Clark Road, died Sept. 18, 2003, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in North Andover, Mass., and lived in Amesbury for many years before moving to Kingston in 1993. She worked for several years as a repairer for the Louie Shoe Co. of Amesbury and volunteered at the Amesbury chapter of the American Red Cross. She also served as a foster mother for numerous children. The wife of the late Frederick Bowman Sr., she is survived by four sons, Frederick Bowman Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Amesbury, Richard Bowman of Florida, Donald Bowman and his wife, Joyce, of North Carolina and Fred Bowman and his wife, Frances, of Amesbury; four daughters, Irene Markland and her husband, Robert, of North Carolina, Joan Lambert and her husband, Roland, of Fremont, Fran Martin and her husband, Richard, of Kingston and Maryellen Bowman of Kingston; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial gathering to be held at her residence, 21 Clark Road, Kingston, Saturday, Oct. 4 from 2 to 6 p.m. Arrangements are by the Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Edna D. Fulmore ATKINSON - Edna D. (Rich) Fulmore, 76, of East Road, the former postmaster of the Sandown Post Office, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at the Kenoza Manor in Haverhill. A resident of Atkinson for the last 42 years, she was born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury, Mass. She graduated from the City of Boston High School of Practical Arts and also attended Merrimack College in North Andover. She worked for several years at Western Electric Co. and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 18 years, the last several as postmaster of the Sandown Post Office. An accomplished pianist and artist, she was a member of the National Association of Postmasters of the United States. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, William A. Fulmore; two daughters, Linda L. White and her husband, Bruce, of Hampstead and Kimberly S. Fulmore of Exeter; and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, and burial was in Atkinson Cemetery. Lillian J. Carbone DEERFIELD - Lillian J. Carbone, 92, of South Road, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at her home after a brief illness. She was born Sept. 22, 1911, in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Carrie (Young) Hale. She grew up in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School. She then attended and graduated from the University of Lowell, Class of 1933. After her marriage to Alfred J. Carbone in 1934, she moved to Hudson, Mass., where they lived for 18 years. She worked as a school teacher in the Hudson School system until she moved to Kingston. While living in Kingston for 18 years, she worked again as a teacher at the Kingston Preschool. In 1990, they moved to Deerfield where her family had a summer home. She was active in several organizations. She was president of the Hudson (Mass.) Women’s Club, a member and treasurer of the Kingston Congregational Church and a member of the Kingston Historical Society. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening. She was predeceased by her husband in 2000. She is survived by one son, David Carbone of Deerfield; one daughter, Andrena Lindahl of Deerfield; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Sept. 30, at the Morrison Cemetery in Deerfield. Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Mabel Morrison RAYMOND - Mabel Morrison, 99, of Raymond, died Aug. 28, 2003, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester. She was born Sept. 8, 1903, in Indiana and moved to Nottingham as a young girl with her family. She had resided in Raymond for the past 28 years. She worked as a secretary for the University of New Hampshire and later worked with a law firm. She was recently honored by the town of Raymond as Raymond’s oldest resident. Town selectmen and the president of the Raymond Historical Society visited her and presented her with the Boston Post Cane, which as a tradition since 1909 has been given to the oldest resident in town. Recently she began undergoing therapy after taking a fall and quipped that the cane could come in handy: "I think I could use this. It’s pretty sturdy." She always kept a positive attitude and refused nursing home care, preferring to live on her own. She never married and remarked that the reason for that was that divorce was too expensive. Services were private. Arrangements were by the Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, Methuen, Mass. Pearl M. Folland BRENTWOOD - Pearl M. Folland, 71, of North Road died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Boston, the daughter of the late George L. and Nettie M. (McKinley) MacNeill. She was raised in Malden, Mass., and was a graduate of Malden High School. She moved to Exeter in 1960 and had resided in Brentwood for the last two years. She and her husband owned and operated Pearls Riverside Restaurant, also known as the Good Old Days Tavern, in Exeter. She worked at the voting polls on the checklist for 30 years and was a switchboard operator at the Rockingham County Jail in Brentwood. She was a member of the American Legion Post 32 of Exeter. She will be remembered for her quick wit and tremendous sense of humor. She had a very good memory and could recall a lot of her friends’ birthdays. She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Folland Jr., who died in 1975. She is survived by two sons, John Henry Folland of Newfields and Edward W. Folland of Newmarket; three daughters, Peggy M. Folland of Newmarket, Judith A. Holmes of Exeter, and Nancy J. Rines of Lee; one brother, George L. MacNeil of Florida; three sisters, Ethel Macleod of Hampstead, Jennie Mathis of Malden and Blanche King of Melrose, Mass.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Stockbridge Funeral Home, 141 Epping Road, Exeter. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Robert Cooney DANVILLE - Robert Cooney, 80, of Pine Street, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. As a native and lifelong resident of the town, he attended Danville schools. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 25 years and retired in 1977. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Collins) Cooney. He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Cooney) (Ragonese) Musso and her husband, Joseph, of Danville; a sister, Helen Davenport of Wiscaset, Maine; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Thursday at the Center Cemetery, Danville. Arrangements were by Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Plaistow. Eva May Clark Dupre HAVERHILL - Eva May Clark Dupre, 90, of Haverhill, died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill, Mass. She was born July 28, 1913, in Exeter, the daughter of the late Louis P. and Dora (Bean) Novell. She was educated in Exeter and had attended the Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter. She married and moved to Rochester in 1934 and moved to Haverhill in 1948. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Haverhill and was very active with the Salvation Army Home League in Haverhill. She was the wife of the late Orner R. Dupre and former wife of Richard G. Clark Sr. She is survived by two sons, Richard G. Clark Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Haverhill and Edward L. Clark and his wife, Norma, of Plaistow; two daughters, Christine A. Roberts and her husband, Warner McCutcheon, of Bradford, Mass., and Linda May Morrow of Manchester; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Marjorie A. Goodness. Calling hours will be held Monday, Oct. 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford, Mass. Littlefield, 78, of Englewood Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at the VA Medical Center in Manchester. He was born Oct. 30, 1924, in Rochester, the son of the late Charles and Ida (Libby) Littlefield. He lived in the Rochester area for many years and lived in Raymond since 1970. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy Seabees Corps, specializing in underwater demolition. Later that year, he was wounded in the right shoulder and the right side of his head at Guadalcanal. In 1945 another wound forced the amputation of his left leg. But the loss of a leg did not prevent him from driving veterans to and from Veteran’s Administration hospitals all over New England after he retired from the Hampton Machine Co. in 1977. Since 1990, he had driven more than 3,000 veterans about 93,000 miles total, using his own car and gasoline. He had also written articles about veterans’ services in local newspapers and service magazines. His military service medals include two Purple Hearts, a Good Conduct Medal, an American Campaign Medal, a World War II Victory Medal, a Military Merit and a Navy Special Warfare Medal. His community service awards include the federal Department of Veteran’s Affairs Certificate of Voluntary Service, the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ Commander-in-Chief Award, the State Department of New Hampshire Disabled Veterans’ Certificate of Recognition, the Dover Elks’ Veteran Appreciation Award and a Certificate of Appreciation from the Navy Seabee Veterans. In 1997 he was honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution and won the national Outstanding Veteran-Patient Award, which recognizes achievement in adjusting to a disability to attain personal and professional success and to contribute to patriotic leadership in word and deed. He was past department commander of the New Hampshire State DAV #4 in Portsmouth from 2000-2001, national commander of Navy Seabee Veterans of America, and national commander of the Underwater Demolition Veterans. He is survived by three sons, Richard Littlefield of Antrim, Eric Littlefield of Arlington, Mass., and Stephen Witham of Raymond; one daughter, Pamela Littlefield-McDonald, of Concord; his former wife and close friend, Marianne Littlefield, of Raymond; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military honors was held Tuesday at the New Hampshire State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen. Arrangements are by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Raymond. Doris M. Harrigan RAYMOND - Doris M. Harrigan, 69, formerly of Haverhill, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. She was born May 21, 1934, in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Frank and Doris M. (McClure) Greer. She was educated in Haverhill and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1952. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church and the Round Table Club #3 at the church. She enjoyed sewing, handcrafts and cooking. The widow of Richard T. "Red" Harrigan, who died Sept. 9, 2003, she is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Ellenwood, and grandson, Justin T. Ellenwood, both of Raymond. She was predeceased by a son, Richard T. Harrigan Jr. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Center Cemetery in Danville.
