Basile DANVILLE - Vincent S. Basile, 68, of 6 Hemlock Drive, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood. He was born May 28, 1935, in Hartford, Conn., the son of the late Marianne Masuzzo. He was raised in East Hartford, Conn., and resided in New Britain and Canton, Conn., Pompano, Fla., Methuen, Salisbury and Lawrence, Mass., before moving to Danville 13 years ago. Mr. Basile was a civil engineer with Local 4 in Boston, retiring because of health reasons. He had worked at the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra (Litchfield) Basile of Danville; one son, David Basile of Sanford, Maine; two daughters, Karen McMahon of Sanford and Tracy Shink of Massachusetts; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter, with the Rev. Michael Taylor officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Epping. "Bob" DeRusha, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, at Harborside Healthcare, Amesbury, Mass. He was born in Haverhill, Mass., and had resided in East Hampstead since 1947. He attended Haverhill High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. DeRusha was president of the Teamsters Union, Local 437 of Merrimac, Mass., for 30 years retiring in 1996. He served as the secretary and treasurer of Teamster’s Joint Council 10 of Boston for 20 years and as a trustee of the International Teamsters Executive Board of Washington, D.C., for six years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 16 of Haverhill and the Country Pond Fish and Game Club. He is survived by his wife, Gail (Nyberg) DeRusha; one son and his wife, Robert G. and Judith DeRusha of Danville; two daughters, Nanette Perry and her husband Shawn of Fremont and Michele Morgan of Exeter; eight grandchildren; one brother, Marlon DeRusha of Derry; two sisters, Erma Cambria of California and Diane Baker of Bradford, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Route 121A, Plaistow. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Plaistow. Association for the Blind, 25 Walker St., Concord, NH, 03301. William J. Hoegen Jr. FREMONT - William J. Hoegen Jr., 47, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Exeter Hospital as a result of complications secondary to spinal cord injuries he received in an automobile accident eight years ago. He was born in Lawrence, Mass., the son of William and Lorraine (Novak) Hoegen Sr. of Derry. He was a graduate of Salem High School, where played basketball and of Lowell University where he served as a co-captain of the basketball team. Mr. Hoegen was a manager in the quality control fabrications division at Raytheon for 18 years. He was a member of the Raytheon Management Club; served as a coach and manager for the Fremont Athletic Association; and played for various local basketball leagues. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Ethel (Emonds) Hoegen; one son, Matthew A. Hoegen of Fremont; one daughter, Melissa L. Hoegen of Fremont; one sister, Linda E. Wallace of Fremont; his maternal grandparents, John and Lena Ward of Salem; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Wednesday in St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Methuen, Mass. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
