Barrett ATKINSON - Robert E. Barrett, 78, of Walker Road, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2003, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Methuen, Mass. He was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Kingston, the son of the late Raymond and Florence (Rollins) Barrett. He was raised in Kingston and had resided in North Providence, R.I., for more than 16 years before moving to Atkinson in 1972. He was a 1942 graduate of Sanborn Seminary and a 1949 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in business. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Barrett was a retail manager for W.T. Grant Stores and was formerly employed at Scanlon’s Hardware in Andover, Mass., and Somerville Lumber in Pelham. He was a member of the Haverhill Rotary Club; the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce; the Gray Eagles; the 96 Bomb Group; the Eighth Air Force Society; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hampstead. He enjoyed traveling and doing automotive work on classic cars. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Velma (Collins) Barrett of Atkinson; two sons; David M. Barrett and his wife Rita of Wallingford, Conn., and Bruce R. Barrett of Warwick, R.I.; one daughter, Diane E. Barrett of Atkinson; four grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Hill of Portsmouth, June Lazos of Haverhill, Janet Miller of Kingston and Norma Coates of Shelbyville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter, with the Rev. Wendall Irvine officiating. Military burial was in Atkinson Cemetery. Russell O. Browne PLAISTOW - Russell O. Browne, 86, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003, at Maplewood Harborside Healthcare, Amesbury, Mass. He was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Haverhill, Mass., the son of the late Walter H. and Florence (Osgood) Browne and had resided in Plaistow for 50 years. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School. Mr. Browne was a forklift operator for Haverhill Boxboard Co., retiring in 1982 after 37 years of service. He was a member of the East Hampstead Union Church and enjoyed traveling, claming, camping, animals and his cabin in Vermont. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Irene M. (Durgin) Browne; one son and his wife, Dennis and Mary Browne of Plaistow; and several cousins. Memorial services were held Monday in the Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, Haverhill. Cronin, 78, formerly of 10 Lisa Ave., died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, Brentwood. She was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of the late James and Frances (Baker) Boisselle. She had resided in Raymond since 1969. She was educated in Haverhill schools. Mrs. Cronin was a secretary for Dr. Nathaniel Miller in Haverhill for many years. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Epping, and was a former member of St. Joseph Church in Haverhill. The widow of John J. Cronin Sr., who died in 1979, she is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Sinclair of Raymond; one son, John J. Cronin Jr. of Hooksett; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Robbins of Raymond; one brother, James Boisselle of Lynn, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, On The Common, Raymond. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Epping, with the Rev. Michael Taylor as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell, Mass. Margaret Kezar WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Margaret "Margot" Morgan Post Kezar, 90, died Sept. 20, 2003, at the Sweet Brook Nursing Home. She was born Nov. 12, 1912, Montclair, N.J., the daughter of Morgan B. and Agnes (Morgan) Post. She was raised in Princeton, N.J., summering in Norfolk, Conn. She lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., and in Radburn, N.J., before moving to Williamstown in 1945. She was a 1929 graduate of the Westtown (Penn.) School, Mrs. Kezar was on the staff of two bookstores in Williamstown, Raymond Washburne’s College Bookstore and Joseph Dewey’s Williams Bookstore for many years. As a young adult she worked in Manhattan. She was treasurer of the Berkshire County Red Cross. For many years she was a volunteer in the Hospice of Northern Berkshire, which serves North Adams, Williamstown and surrounding communities. She drove holiday dinners to shut-ins and . and Lucy Paine Kezar of Kingston; two grandsons; her identical-twin sister, Carina Post Remer of Holly Hill, Fla.; and several nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters. A Quaker memorial service and celebration of her life took place in Williamstown on Nov. 9 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Audie L. West NEWTON - Audie Leroy West, 47, of 16 New Boston Road, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, in Exeter Hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1956, in Exeter, the son of Norman E. West of Newton, and the late Alice (Guimond) West. He was a graduate of Sanborn Regional High School, Kingston. Mr. West was a certified welder and worked in the Transfer Station in Newton. He was an automobile enthusiast and especially loved race cars and antiques. He was a collector of clocks, and looked forward to wintertime, skidooing with his family. In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Joeleen West of Hampstead; five brothers, Norman E. West Jr. of Ogunquit, Maine, Gary D. West of Uxbridge, Mass., Keith W. West of Granby, Mo., Shawn E. West of Newton, and Richard J. Dragon of Milan; two sisters, Donna Metusik of Uxbridge and Lauren M. Dragon of Haverhill, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Lillian M. (St. Paul) West. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Homes, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, followed by interment in Union Cemetery, Amesbury.
