Bake KINGSTON - Ralph Ronald "Ronnie" Bake, 68, of Main Street, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at his home after a sudden illness. He was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Exeter, the son of the late Ralph H. and L. Evelyn (Nason) Bake and was a lifelong resident of Kingston. He was a 1953 graduate of Sanborn Seminary and attended East Coast Aerotech in Lexington, Mass. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving as a pilot for 10 years, spending some time in Germany. He attended cadet training at Bryan Air Force Base in Texas. He was a pilot with US Airways for 25 years. He enjoyed farming, and raising cattle and pigs. He was a member of Kingston Congregational Church; a former volunteer with the Kingston Fire Department, joining when he was 16; a member of the Kingston Lions Club; and part of the Airline Pilots Association. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia (Sevareid) Bake of Kingston; one daughter, Donna Hudson of Durham; two sons, David Bake of Shippensburg, Pa., and Thomas Bake of Greenland; three grandchildren; two stepgrandsons; two sisters, Norma Jervis of Atkinson and Marilyn Bartlett of Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held Thursday in Kingston Congregational Church. Arrangements were by the Brewitt Funeral Home, Exeter. Yvonne T. Boody BRENTWOOD - Yvonne T. Boody, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was born June 21, 1927, in Newburyport, Mass., the daughter of the late Alfred and Eva (St. Hilaire) Levesque, and was raised in Amesbury, Mass. She attended Sacred Heart School and Amesbury High School. Mrs. Boody worked at Henschel’s of Amesbury, as a punch-press operator at Bailey’s Manufacturing and during the summer at the former Lavalley’s Ice Cream in Amesbury. She enjoyed spending time with her family, bluegrass music, playing the banjo and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Harold K. Boody of Exeter; two daughters, Karen A. Cook of North Hampton and Carol B. Smith of Raymond; two grandsons; one brother, Richard Levesque of Merrimac, Mass.; two sisters, Marie Fairbanks of Exeter and Annette Little of Hampstead; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, Amesbury. Carl W. Coolbaugh Sr. RAYMOND - Carl W. Coolbaugh Sr., 83, of Agent Drive, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the Edgewood Centre, Portsmouth. He was born Aug. 9, 1920, in Noxen, Pa., the son of the late Cecil and Maude (Wright) Coolbaugh. He had resided in Ayer, Mass., for many years and had lived in Raymond for 16 years. Mr. Coolbaugh was a career military man, serving with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of Raymond United Methodist Church and former president of the Bay State Good Sammers Camping Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and camping. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marian (Chamberlain) Coolbaugh of Raymond; two sons, Carl W. Coolbaugh Jr. of Framingham, Mass., and Ralph Coolbaugh of Amesbury, Mass.; three daughters, Patricia A. Minor of Barrington, Dorothy A. Letellier of Manchester and Carol J. Forsythe of Upland, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Leon R. Coolbaugh of Florida and New York; one sister, Arline Betkavsky of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday in Raymond United Methodist Church with Pastor Kwan Lee officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond. William J.Hartigan Jr. HAMPSTEAD - William J. Hartigan Jr., 78, of Granite Village, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Boston Medical Center. He was born in Boston and had resided in West Roxbury, Mass., for many years, moving to Plaistow in 1978. He had lived in Hampstead for three years. He was a graduate of Brighton (Mass.) High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hartigan was an electrician at the Boston Herald, retiring in 1985, and was a member of Local 103 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a communicant of Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. The widower of Anne (Horan) Hartigan, he is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, William J. Hartigan III of Bridgton, Maine, James A. and Sherlene Hartigan of Brentwood, and Thomas M. and Joanne Hartigan of Plaistow; two daughters and their husbands, Patricia A. and Frank Gravino of Rockville, Md., and Joanne M. and Scott Sullivan of Fremont; seven grandchildren; one brother, Charles Hartigan of Bridgton; three sisters, Eleanor Hartigan of West Roxbury, Marie Danca of Newton, Mass., and Dorothy Yamartino of Wakefield, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, Route 121A, Plaistow, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, Plaistow. Richard F. Sanborn EPPING - Richard Favor Sanborn, 91, of Fremont Road, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at the SunBridge Nursing Home in Exeter after a brief illness. He was born April 19, 1912, in Epping, the son of the late Walter and Sylvia Sanborn, and was a lifelong resident of Epping. He was a graduate of Epping High School and received his degree in agriculture from the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Sanborn worked at Merrimack Farmers in Epping for 25 years and at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in the maintenance department. He devoted his life to agriculture and planting. He enjoyed home-improvement projects. He was an Epping selectman for two terms; a member of the Epping School Board; a cemetery and library trustee in Epping; an Epping Community Church trustee; a member of 4-H Club and the Rockingham Grange; and Epping Building and Loan. He was an operator of the Epping Waste Water Treatment plant. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rachel (Bourne) Sanborn of Epping; one daughter, Priscilla E. Mills of Atkinson; two sons, Charles P. Sanborn and Richard B. Sanborn, both of Epping; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Willard Sanborn of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Edith Ingalls of Madison, Maine; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the Brewitt Funeral Home, Epping, with the Rev. Carroll Moore officiating. Burial was in Prospect Cemetery, Epping.
