HERVE´ BOIRE Herve Boire of Colebrook died suddenly on Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 5 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, with The Reverend Albert Bellefeuille as celebrant. Brooks, 85, of Diamond Pond Road in Colebrook, died on Monday morning, March 1, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mr. Brooks was born on August 31, 1918 at home on North Hill in Stewartstown, son of the late Harold and Marion (McConnell) Brooks. He served in the Army during World War II, receiving an honorable discharge and leaving the service in September, 1945. For many years, Mr. Brooks owned and operated a farm, during which time he also worked for the Beecher Falls Division of Ethan Allen. When his children moved from home, he then sold the farm and went to work for Tillotson Rubber Company in the machine shop until his retirement at the age of 70. He loved being outdoors and gardening. He also enjoyed animals. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the George L. O'Neil American Legion & Auxiliary, Post 62, Colebrook. He also served as selectman for the Town of Clarksville. Mr. Brooks is survived by his four children, Marcia Pond and her husband George of Plymouth, Barbara Hann and her husband Bradley of Colebrook, Stephen Brooks and his wife Kristin of Columbia, and Thomas Brooks and his wife Micheline of Colebrook; three brothers, Howard Brooks of Columbia, Lester Brooks of Clarksville and Roy Brooks of Stewartstown; two sisters, Ramona Brooks of Colebrook and Rita Brigham of Stewartstown; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Brooks is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor (Cater) Brooks on June 14, 1980; by three brothers, Glen, Lawrence and Wayne Brooks; and an infant sister, Louetta Brooks. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 4, from 6-9 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church, with The Reverend Priscilla Hull officiating. An interment service will be held in the spring at the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery. Bryant, 58, of Colebrook, died after a brief illness early on Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. She was born on June 19, 1945 in Clarksville, the daughter of Lenwood and Hazel (Masters) Bresette. She attended school in Clarksville, and was married to Walter A. Bryant Jr. on May 16, 1964. Mrs. Bryant was employed by Tillotson Rubber from 1968 until her retirement in 1986. Mrs. Bryant enjoyed cooking, and was especially talented at making breads and biscuits. She liked to take walks in the country, baking, sewing and home life, especially time spent with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Janet G. Bryant is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Walter (Billy) Bryant Jr.; a son, Billy Bryant of Colebrook; a daughter, Tammy Bryant of Colebrook; stepson Dennis Bryant of Berlin; and stepdaughter Eleanor May Bryant of West Charleston, Vt.; two brothers, Lawrence Bresette of Rutland, Vt., and Robert Bresette of East Wallingford, Vt.; four sisters, Joy Towle of Stewartstown, Dorothy Redmond of Ocala, Fla., Marjorie Prescott of North Carolina and Joann Goodwin of Stratford; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lenwood and Frederick Bresette. Calling hours were held on Tuesday afternoon and evening, March 2 at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the spring at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Drew, 87, died on Monday afternoon, February 23, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. Mrs. Drew was born on April 14, 1916 in Barnston, Quebec. She came to the United States as a young girl with her family and lived in Beecher Falls, and was graduated from Canaan High School in 1934. In 1937, after her marriage, she moved to East Colebrook and lived there until 1940. She then moved to Columbia, living on the family's farm until 1955, when they moved to Stratford. She was a member of the N.H. State Grange for over 60 years; a 43-year member of the Stratford Pythian Sisters; a member of VFW Auxiliary of Stratford; a very active member of the Stratford Senior Citizens and a member of the First Baptist Church of North Stratford. She is survived by two sons, Garland Drew of Califon, N.J., and Gary Drew of Hackettstown, N.J.; four daughters, Sandra Paquette of Colebrook, Beverly Fogg of Columbia, Gail Chapple and Barbara Riff, both of Stratford; 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Willard Drew, in 1980; a son, Haynes Drew; and two brothers, Harold Haynes and Wendell Haynes. Calling hours were held on Wednesday evening, February 25 at the Jenkins Funeral Home. A funeral service was conducted on Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in North Stratford, with Pastor Larry Clough officiating. An interment service will be held in the spring at the Fairview Cemetery in North Stratford. Fadden Jr., 73, of Sutton, Vt., died at his home on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 with his wife and children at his side. He was born in Lowell, Mass., on April 19, 1930 to Maxwell A.K. Fadden Sr. and his wife Beulah (Linscott). On September 23, 1956, he was married to Joan C. Wilkins. He was a Marine Corps veteran who served his country in Korea. Max worked for New England Telephone Company for 36 years, retiring in 1989. In 1978 he moved from Tewksbury, Mass. to Sutton. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, VFW Post 10038 of Lyndonville, Telephone Pioneers, the IBEW and the Pawtucketville Congregational Church in Lowell. He was an avid hunter and sportsman, who loved his country with an old-fashioned fervor and his family with all of his heart. Max vacationed often in Pittsburg. When he was younger, he frequented Spruce Cone Cabins until he bought a camp, from where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. The last time he was in Pittsburg was this past September to celebrate his 47th anniversary. He had many friends in the area and will be missed. Max is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Keith L. Fadden and wife Charlene of Hudson, N.H., Carol H. Ayer and husband Timothy of Montpelier, Vt, Robert S. Fadden and wife Patti of West Charleston, Vt, and Cristie F. Arguin and husband John of Barre, Vt; 14 grandchildren, a brother, Linscott Fadden and wife Kris of Dover, N.H.; two brothers-in-law, Raymond T. Wilkins and wife Dorothea of Pelham, N.H. and Robert Reid of Florida; a sister-in-law, Jane Wilkins of Dracut, Mass.; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Max is predeceased by his parents and four grandchildren; Faith, Ethan, Aiden Arguin and Casey Ayer. A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 21 at the Guibord Funeral Home, in Lyndonville, with Rev. Robert Leno officiating. Committal services will be announced at a later date. Born in Washington, D.C., he was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School in St. Petersburg, Fla. He attended the University of Florida before graduating from the Lewis Hotel School, a division of George Washington University. He served his country with honor and distinction during World War II as a paratrooper. He spent more than 30 years in the resort hotel business, first serving as the general manager of the Soreno Hotel in St. Petersburg. He was vice president of the Balsams Hotel in Dixville Notch. He was also the owner and operator of the Allen A Resort in Wolfeboro. Since 1988, he and his wife established and operated Executive Properties, a real estate management company in Rochester. He was the devoted and beloved husband of Bette Lu Smith; loving father of Mathew Smith of Wakefield, Mass., and Mary Smith-Wasserman of Breckenridge, Colo.; and the proud grandfather of two. Memorial services were held on February 7 in the chapel of H.J. Grondin and Son Funeral Home in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mr. Smithıs name may be made to the Rochester N.H.
