ROSINA STANLEY Rosina M. (Draper) Stanley, formerly of South Canaan, died suddenly on Saturday, March 20, 2004 while at The Pines Rehabilitation and Health Center in Lyndon, Vt., at the age of 76. She was born on February 24, 1928 in Richford, Vt., the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Norton) Draper. On March 19, 1945 she was married to Richard Stanley. They lived in South Canaan for 43 years. Mrs. Stanley enjoyed reading, embroidery, picnics at Maidstone Lake, and family functions. Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Caron and her husband Alfred of Merrimack, N.H., two sons, Larry Stanley of Colebrook and Bruce Stanley of Newport, Vt.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joyce Cook of California, Janet Roach of Florida and Avadella Cornell of Merrick, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years; two sons, Carroll and Kevin Stanley; and her brother, Elmer Draper. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Guibord Funeral Home in Lyndonville, Vt. KAY VON DOHRMANN Kay Dehl von Dohrmann formerly of Pittsburg, died on Saturday, March 13, 2004 in Holiday, Fla. Mrs. von Dohrmann was married to the late Albert von Dohrmann and worked for many years as a schoolteacher in Pittsburg. Mrs. von Dohrmann is survived by her two sons, Albert "Bert" von Dohrmann Jr. of Pittsburg and Charles von Dohrmann of Pawtucket, R.I.; a daughter, Linda Chappell of Essex Junction, Vt.; a sister, Martha Dehl von Dohrmann of New Port Richey, Fla.; and a brother, Stephen Dehl of Pittsburg. Graveside services will be conducted in the spring at Lake Cemetery in Pittsburg. Arrangements are entrusted to Newman Funeral Home. NORMA WENTZELL Norma Marie Wentzell, 73, of Colebrook, died at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook on Thursday, March 18, 2004 after a brief illness. She was born on May 6, 1930 in Somerville, Mass., the daughter of Frederick and Norma (Basley) Wentzell. She attended Colebrook schools and was a 1948 graduate of Colebrook Academy. Ms. Wentzell attended nursing school after graduation, then enlisted in the Army in 1949. After a break in service she reentered the Army and was selected for Officer Candidate School. She was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in March of 1964 and retired as a Captain in March, 1972. She was also employed by the postal service as a letter carrier and as a draftsman for Robert Shaw Surveying. She was a longtime member of the George L. O'Neil American Legion Post 62 in Colebrook. Ms. Wentzell enjoyed gardening, painting and watching NASCAR races. Ms. Wentzell is survived by her sister, Marilyn Ippolito of Colebrook; three nieces, Alicia Boire of Colebrook, Jadean Barthelmes of Hopkinton and Stephanie Lyons of Colebrook; and eight grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Harold Wentzell in 1981. Calling hours were held from 1:30-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, immediately after calling hours. Burial will be in the spring at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Newman Funeral Home.
