BLANCHE DANFORTH Mrs. Blanche (Leigh) Dan-forth, 84, of West Stewartstown and formerly of Colebrook, died on Friday morning, April 9, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mrs. Danforth was born on March 14, 1920 in Hereford Hill, Quebec, daughter of the late Thomas and Annie (Howe) Leigh. Beginning at a young age, Mrs. Danforth worked as a housekeeper for local doctors and teachers, often cooking for their families. She was employed for several years with Manchester Manufacturing, where she sewed and repaired coats and jackets. She was a past member of the North Star Grange of Stewartstown and the Mohawk Grange of East Colebrook. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, and will be remembered for her love of family. Mrs. Danforth is survived by her daughter, Hilda Hiltz and husband Donald of Middleton; a brother, Robert Leigh of Colebrook; a sister, Myrtle Rowell of East Clifton, Quebec; her son-in-law, Herbert Gadwah of Columbia; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Danforth is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Benjamin R. "Benny" Danforth; and a daughter, Faye Gadwah. Calling hours were held on Tuesday afternoon, April 13 at the Jenkins Funeral Home. A funeral service followed at the funeral home, with The Reverend Rose Howe and The Reverend Ronald R. Owen co-officiating. An interment service will be held in the spring at the Colebrook Village Cemetery. BRUCE HAYNES Mr. Bruce "Bung" Haynes, 54, of Colebrook, died on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at his home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Haynes was born August 25, 1949 in West Stewartstown, son of Donald C. and Jean (Keach) Haynes. Mr. Haynes was owner and operator of Bruce Haynes Trucking & Logging for 27 years. He was a member of the Evening Star Lodge #37, F&AM and a 32nd Degree Mason. He was an avid NASCAR fan, attending as many races he could. He enjoyed four-wheeling and camping, and will be remembered for his love of family and friends, spending time with his grandchildren and the many friends who played such an important part in his life, those locally and in New York. Mr. Haynes is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Rainville) Haynes of Colebrook; his son, Gerald Bruce Haynes and his wife Lori of New Boston; his daughter, Jaime Boire and her husband Nelson of West Stewartstown; his mother, Jean Haynes of Colebrook; two brothers, Jeffrey Haynes of Colebrook and David Haynes of Kensington; and two grandchildren. Mr. Haynes is preceded in death by his father, Donald C. Haynes; two brothers, Gary Haynes and Bradley Haynes; two sisters, Susan Haynes and Brenda Therrien; and two grandchildren, Isaac Haynes and Trevor Haynes. Calling hours were held on Monday, April 12 at the Jenkins Funeral Home, with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. by the Evening Star Lodge #37, F&AM. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday at the Trinity United Methodist Church with The Reverend Granvyl G. Hulse, Jr. and The Reverend Marlyn Neary co-officiating. GEORGE MORRIS George Sierra Morris, 56, of Ossipee, died on April 5, 2004 at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, following complications arising from his long battle with primary pulmonary hypertension. He was born on March 5, 1948, the son of George Francis and Aida Sierra Morris in Tampa, Fla. He lived on Anna Maria Island, Fla. until the family moved to Havana, Cuba, when he was five years old. In 1960 the family moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and in 1962 returned to Florida. A graduate of Merritt Island High School, Mr. Morris also attended Manatee County Community College. He began working in the plumbing trade while living in Florida, and after moving to New Hampshire in 1982, he formed his own business, GSM Plumbing and Heating in Ossipee. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Morris was a hunter and fisherman, with a camp in Errol and another in South Carolina. Family members include is wife, Debra Morris of Ossipee; his children, George R. Morris and DeeAnn Conner of Arcadia, Fla., and Anna Maria, Myles and Madelina Morris of Ossipee; two sisters, Deanna Dorvillier of Rochester and Myra Feely of Alachua, Fla.; a brother, Stephen Morris of Bradenton, Fla.; an uncle and aunt; 19 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at St. Joseph Church on Moultonville Road in Center Ossipee on Thursday.
