BOB OWEN Mr. Bob Owen, 79, of Stewartstown, died early on Sunday morning, June 6, 2004 at the Morrison Nursing Home in Whitefield. Mr. Owen was born on February 28, 1925, in Stewartstown, and lived a very interesting life. He attended North Hill School in Stewartstown and as a young man, hauled guests to the Hurlbert sporting camps by a team of horses and sleigh. He worked in the woods for his uncle, Bill Owen, skidding logs and driving teams, and he hauled canned milk for another uncle, Nelson Owen. He worked in construction for Clyde Gray for over 20 years while also driving truck for Lewis Oil from Portland, Maine, during the winter months. His employment also included working for Lucien Dion for 10 years and for George Gould running a payloader. He operated a hydraulic loader for Warren "Pic" Haynes. He retired in 1982, but continued working part-time for the McAllaster farm in Stewartstown until his health would not allow him to continue. Mr. Owen is survived by his family: Rod McAllaster, his wife Donna and son Paul of Stewartstown; a brother, Peter Daley of Lemington; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Almore Owen Daley, and a brother, John Daley. Calling hours were held on Tuesday evening, June 8 at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 9 at 1 p.m. at the North Hill Church in Stewartstown, with Pastor Larry Clough officiating. An interment service will follow at the Stewartstown Hollow Cemetery. (Covell) Rainville, 78, of Colebrook, who died on May 28, 2004, will be conducted on Friday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook, with The Reverend Priscilla Hull officiating. An interment service will follow at the Colebrook Village Cemetery.
