NICHOLAS "NICK" BISHOP Nicholas "Nick" Bryan Bishop, 8, died on July 18, 2004 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after many days fighting injuries received during an ATV accident on July 10. He was born on July 24, 1995 in Lancaster, the son of Scott Bishop and Cinda Wentworth. He was a student at Stratford School, where he recently completed the third grade. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Lancaster. Nick was an avid ATV racer, a member of the New England Dirt Track Series, American Motor Cross Association and the New England All Terrain Vehicle Racers Association. Most recently he raced for Team Moose, a national apparel and racing equipment manufacturer. Nick was also an avid hunter and got his first turkey during this year's Youth Hunting Day. He also enjoyed fishing with his buddy Gary, playing on his Play Station, and any activity that involved his friends. Nick's life will continue through others, thanks to organ donation. Family members include his parents, Scott Bishop and Cinda Wentworth of Stratford; two sisters, Chelsea Bishop and Brooke Bishop of Stratford; maternal grandparents Clark and Judith Wentworth of Stark; and paternal grandmother Nancy Bishop of Stratford; two great-grandmothers, Beatrice Tuttle and Lucille Wentworth, both of Stark; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 21 from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Main-Armstrong Funeral Home in Groveton. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Lancaster, with the Rev. James Michaels officiating. Burial will follow at Center Stratford Cemetery. CLARA DAMON Mrs. Clara (Kingman) Damon, 70, of Wilsons Mills, Maine, died on Wednesday, July 14, 2004 at the Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine. She was born in New Bedford, Mass., on June 20, 1934, the daughter of Metcalf and Helen Mae (Bruce) Kingman. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School with the Class of 1952, and furthered her education at Simmons College. She resided in Boston and Goshen, Mass., before retiring to Wilsons Mills in 1993. She was a lab technician at Massachusetts General Hospital and the Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass. She also worked as a librarian. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Aziscohos Grange in Wilsons Mills, the Wilsons Mills Fire Department and the Friends of the Errol Library. Her interests were traveling, family history, correspondence, cribbage, her camp on Aziscohos Lake, reading, gourmet cooking, family and friends. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Members of the family include two daughters, Betsey Hyde of Temple, Maine and Katherine Skroski of Phippsburg, Maine; stepchildren Jared Damon of Otisfield, Maine, Meredith Lawson of Hampden, Maine, Carol Hammon of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Claudia Darneille of Porter, Maine, Jonathan W. Damon of Mechanic Falls, Maine, and Keith R. Damon of Park City, Utah; 40 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Metcalf Kingman of Mattapoisett, Mass.; a niece, nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip W. Damon, a sister, Ruth Greenhalgh, and a brother, James Kingman. Funeral services were held on Monday, July 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Randolph. Interment will be in the Lincoln Plantation Cemetery in Wilsons Mills, Maine. Calling hours were held prior to the funeral service. Donations in Mrs. Damon's memory may be made to the Wilsons Mills Fire and Rescue Department or the Friends of the Errol Library. The Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin is in charge of the arrangements. WILLIAM G. HOADLEY William G. Hoadley, 82, of Tilton, died at Merrimack County Nursing Home on July 16, 2004. Born in Lowell, Vt., on May 6, 1922, he was the son of William Elias Hoadley and Myrtie Ann (Cushing) Hoadley. He was raised in Lowell and in North Stratford, then lived in Franklin for 27 years before moving to Tilton, where he lived for 30 years. While in Franklin, he was a member of the Baptist Church of Franklin and formerly taught Sunday school there. During World War II, Mr. Hoadley served with the Coast Guard as a motor machinist's mate, 3rd class. He made 22 overseas trips to Europe aboard the USS Poole, a destroyer escort. Several years ago, he was a meat cutter at the former Franklin Meat Co. He later worked at Jordan Meat Co. in Laconia until retiring. Mr. Hoadley was a former member of Franklin VFW Post 1698 and The Franklin American Legion Post. Several years ago he had a band, for which he played guitar and sang. Mr. Hoadley also enjoyed fishing and hunting. The family includes his wife of 57 years, Gertrude (Benoit) Hoadley of Franklin; three daughters, Debbie Rines of Hooksett, Ellen Hoadley of Boscawen, and Wilhemina Millis of Sanbornton; two grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Hoadley of Franklin; a half-brother, William Joscelyn of Tilton; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Thibault-Neun Funeral Home, 143 Franklin St., Franklin. Memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Veterans Home, PO Box 229, Tilton, NH 03276. IVAN NASON Ivan "Moose" R. Nason, 62, of Beecher Falls, died on Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at the Pine Rehabilitation Center in Lyndonville, Vt. He was born March 29, 1942, in West Stewartstown, son of the late Clark and Dora (McKee) Nason. Mr. Nason worked as a clerk and truck driver for Lambert's Grocery Store in Colebrook for a number of years, and as an electrician at L.N. Purrington & Sons until his illness prohibited him from working. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved woodworking. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Nason is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Margaret "Maggie" (Richard) Nason of Beecher Falls; three children, Deborah Dupuis and husband Louis of Berlin, Tina Laramee and husband John of Weare, and Clark Nason of Manchester; three sisters, Mary Ellen Uran of Beecher Falls, Linda Hunter of Springfield, Vt., and Shirley Brown of Granby, Vt.; four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Nason is preceded in death by his parents, by a brother, Kenneth Nason, and a sister, Arlene Brown. Family received friends on Saturday afternoon, July 17 at the Jenkins Funeral Home. A memorial service was conducted on Saturday afternoon at the Jenkins Funeral Home, with Pastor Al Bunnell officiating. An interment service followed at St. Albert's Cemetery.
