GEORGE CRAPEAU George B. Crapeau, 78, of Littleton, died on September 17, 2004 at Littleton Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born on December 23, 1925 in Whitefield, he was a son of Joseph E. and Mary A. (Boissonneault) Crapeau. He was graduated from Whitefield High School in 1943. Mr. Crapeau served in the Army in Europe during World War II as a communications specialist. He worked for Western Union Telegraph in Baltimore, for more than 30 years. Playing the organ was a passion of his; he built his first organ from a kit. He played the organ for various denominations in Baltimore and was a member of the choir and played the organ for St. Matthew Catholic Church in Whitefield for many years. He also enjoyed gardening. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the National Rifle Association and a past member of the American Legion. The family includes two sisters, Theresa Caggiula of Colebrook and Claire Brady of Goffstown. Calling hours were held on Tuesday evening at Pillsbury Funeral Home in Littleton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Fleming as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, New Hampshire Affiliate, 104 Middle St., Manchester, NH 03101. GRAVESIDE SERVICES GORDON FLANDERS Graveside services for Gordon M. Flanders, 92, of North Conway, will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 11 a.m. in St. Brendan's Catholic Cemetery in Colebrook, with the Rev. Albert Bellefeuille officiating. Mr. Flanders, born in Stewartstown in 1911, died on February 20 at the Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Conway. The Furber and White Funeral Home of North Conway is in charge of arrangements. JOYCE LAKIN Joyce Marie (Hodson) Lakin, 78, of West Stewartstown, died on Wednesday afternoon, September 15, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mrs. Lakin was born on February 26, 1926 in Turon, Kansas, daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Kelley) Hodson. Mrs. Lakin enjoyed her working career. She worked as a waitress at Howard's Restaurant and was employed at the North Stratford plywood mill, and also made popcorn at the movie theatre in Colebrook before its closing. She also worked as a cashier at both LaPerle's IGA and Solomon's Store, while assisting various families as a nanny. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles, reading, making crafts, traveling, and collecting items such as stamps, coins and miniature elephants. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Mrs. Lakin is survived by eight children, Diana Corliss of Colebrook, Donald "Jack" Haynes of Seattle, Wash., David "Jim" Haynes and his wife, Judi, of Manchester, Sandra Hall and her husband Richard of Colebrook, Rex Haynes and his companion Claire Vachon of Merrimack, Valerie Hartlen and her husband Michael of Merrimack, Wendell "Walt" Lakin and his wife Valerie of Milford, and Randy Lakin of Canaan; five brothers and sisters, Milburn Hodson and his wife Carolyn of Kingman, Kan., Doris Maze and her husband Bob of Thurmont, Md., Wayne Hodson and his wife Yvonne of Golden, Colo., Dean Hodson and his wife Jacque of Madison Lodge, Kan., and Shirley Jeannette Winter and her husband Leon of Kingman, Kan.; twenty-two grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Lakin is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald E. Haynes; her second husband, Wendell Ward Lakin; two children: Donna Joy Riendeau and Curtis Russell Haynes; and a brother, Lee Hodson. Calling hours were held on Monday at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday morning at the Trinity United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Timothy McDo-well officiating. (Adams) Roix, formerly of Salem, died on Monday night, September 13, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. She was 96 years old, and had been a Pittsburg resident for the past four years. She was born and educated in Perth, New Brunswick, and came to the United States at the age of 10. She made her home in Chapman, Maine, and had also resided in Presque Isle and Augusta. In 1962 she moved to Salem and lived there until 1991. Mrs. Roix was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salem and the Bethany Baptist Church in Presque Isle. She was the widow of Sidney B. Roix and the mother of the late Maxine Harrington. The family includes a son, Richard, and his wife Arleen Roix of Londonderry; four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cassie Roix and Effie Grass, both of Presque Isle. Relatives and friends attended funeral services on Friday morning at the Douglas & Johnson funeral Home Chapel in Salem, followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem. Calling hours were held on Thursday evening at the funeral home. WILLIAM SEAVER William Arthur Seaver, 67, of Joseph House in Manchester, died on September 18, 2004 at Lakes Region Hospital in Laconia. He was born on October 26, 1936 in North Stratford, the son of Blanche (Duclos) and William Harrington Seaver. He served in the Army and after his discharge he worked in factories in Manchester, but spent the better part of the 1980s and early 1990s in Vermont employed as a cab driver before returning to Laconia. Mr. Seaver enjoyed photography and was an avid hunter. Family members include his former wife, Patricia Seaver of Manchester; a son, William Seaver Jr. of Manchester; two daughters, Sharon Seaver and Susan Avery, both of Manchester; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held on Saturday at Joseph House in Manchester. The officiate for the memorial service was John Spancake, elder at Inreach Ministries, Laconia. Burial will be at St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia. Arrangements were handled by the Cremation Society of New Hampshire. ELIZABETH VONDOHRMANN Elizabeth L. vonDohrmann, 54, of Pittsburg, died after a courageous battle with cancer late on Sunday evening, Sep-tember 19, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. She was born on July 7, 1950 in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., the daughter of Frederic and Kathleen (Byrne) Taeger. Mrs. vonDohrmann was a 1968 graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Long Island. She went on to earn her nursing degree in 1973 from SUNY Plattsburgh, N.Y., and was married to Albert vonDohrmann on July 9, 1972. The couple lived in England for three years while Mr. vonDohrmann was serving in the Air Force, and returned to Pittsburg in 1977. Mrs. vonDohrmann spent the next 26 years working as a Registered Nurse, first at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, later as the school nurse for Pittsburg and Stewartstown schools, and finally as the Director of Nursing at the Coös County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown. In 2001 she was recognized as the New Hampshire Nursing Home Employee of the Year. She enjoyed gardening, sew-ing and quilting, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a longtime Girl Scout leader in Pittsburg. Mrs. vonDohrmann is survived by her husband, Albert vonDohrmann of Pittsburg; four daughters, Katherine vonDohrmann of Pittsburg, Elizabeth vonDohrmann of Skowhegan, Maine, Mrs. Eugene (Christine) Cote of Canaan, and Mrs. Jesse (Jennifer) Jacobs of Mt. Vernon, Maine; two brothers, Frederick and his wife Patricia Taeger of Wellington, Fla., and John Taeger of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Bauer of Holtsville, N.Y.; and three grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 26 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, September, 27 at Assumption Church in Canaan. Private interment services will be held at the Hollow Cemetery in Pittsburg.
