PAUL BOBEY Paul Bobey, 82, of Colebrook, died suddenly on Friday, October 1, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Bobey was born on March 27, 1922 in Manchester, son of the late John and Anna (Chudoka) Bobey. He had eight brothers and sisters, having been preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bobey on June 5, 1999. One of his sisters, Theresa Bobey, currently resides in Londonderry. He is also survived by his home care provider, Donald Pichette of Colebrook. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, October 14 at 4 p.m. at the Colebrook Village Cemetery, with The Reverend Priscilla Hull officiating. Winnifred "Freddy" McLaughlin, 76, of Manchester and formerly of Berlin, died on September 28, 2004 at Catholic Medical Center. Ms. McLaughlin was born on June 18, 1928 in Waltham, Mass., daughter of the late John and Mary (Dalton) Rourke. She was graduated with a bachelor of science degree in home economics from Framingham State Teachers College in Framingham. Freddy worked for 27 years as a field agent for the N.H. Cooperative Extension Service, educating school children about nutrition. After retirement, she worked as a Mary Kay cosmetic consultant for many years. Freddy was an avid skier, and thoroughly enjoyed talking politics with her friends. She enjoyed skiing and hiking in Dixville Notch and had many friends in the local area. She has 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Family members include her daughter Ann and her husband Keith Richards of Manchester; a son, John Rourke McLaughlin and is wife Sally of Manchester; a sister, Joan, and her husband Richard Gamble of Stinson Beach, Calif. She also leaves behind her former husband, Richard McLaughlin of Deerfield Beach, Fla. There was a memorial reception on Friday, October 1, followed by a ceremony at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium in Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Sister St. Marie-Louise (Gertrude Lariviere), of Hudson, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died on October 2, 2004 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. Born on March 7, 1928, she was the daughter of Ludger and Marie-Louise (Desjardins) Lariviere. She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1946, and made her First Profession in 1949 and Final Profession in 1954. Sister St. Marie-Louise received a bachelor of education degree from Rivier College in Nashua. She taught in the New Hampshire Catholic elementary schools served by the Presentation of Mary Sisters in Cascade, Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson, Keene, Manchester and West Stewartstown, and with the Holy Cross Sisters at Infant Jesus School in Nashua. She also served in the Rhode Island Catholic elementary schools in Albion, Anthony, Phenix, West Warwick and Woonsocket. She retired at the Marie Rivier Cenacle at Presentation of Mary Convent in Hudson. Sister continued her service as a teacher tutoring students at the Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson. Family members include a sister, Irene Lariviere Gagnon of Dover; a nephew, Robert Joseph Lariviere of Shrewsbury, Mass.; and several cousins. Calling hours were held on Monday afternoon and evening at Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, with a prayer service that evening. The funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday afternoon at Presentation of Mary Academy Chapel, with burial in Presentation of Mary Academy Cemetery. Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home of Hudson is in charge of arrangements. LEE SMITH Lee Smith, 42, of North Charleston, S.C., died on Friday, September 17, 2004 after a sudden illness at Summerville Hospital in North Charleston. He was born on December 16, 1961 in Keene. He was a graduate of Pittsburg High School, and served in the Air Force for twelve years as a crew chief for B-52s. He loved airplanes, country music and spending time with his wife. He was very fond of his two Yorkies, Rocky and Scooter. He is survived by his wife, Ann, of North Charleston, and his mother, Maxine Gokey of Pittsburg. A memorial service was held on Sunday, September 26 at the Rivers Funeral Home in Goose Creek, S.C. Interment will be in the Pittsburg Cemetery sometime in November.
