GRAVESIDE SERVICE PAUL BOBEY A graveside service for Mr. Paul Bobey, 82, of Colebrook, who died on October 1, will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 14 at the Colebrook Village Cemetery, with The Rev. BARBARA CROSS Barbara T. Cross, 86, of Conway, died on October 8, 2004 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in North Conway after a long illness. She was born in Wentworth Location, the daughter of Thomas and Maude (Flint) Tracy. Mrs. Cross was graduated from Berlin High School in 1934 and from Plymouth Normal School in 1938. She taught in Milan Hill School and North Conway Elementary School. She grew up in the Berlin-Milan area and had lived in North Conway, Hudson and Concord before moving to Conway in 1956, when she and her husband owned Cross Farm on West Side Road. The family includes a son, Lary A. Cross of Conway; a sister, Harriett Leblanc of Webster; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert R. Cross, in 1993, and by a son, Robert A. "Jack" Cross, in 1986. Calling hours were held on Monday at Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. A private service was held at the funeral home, with burial to follow in the Conway Village Cemetery. HAILEY GRIMARD Hailey Rae Grimard of Lancaster, infant daughter of Paul David Grimard and Amanda Ariel Rainault, died on Monday evening, October 4, 2004 at Weeks Medical Center following her birth. Family members include her parents of Lancaster; paternal grandfather Michael Grimard Sr. of Whitefield; two paternal uncles, Michael Grimard Jr. of Whitefield and Ed Grimard of Littleton; her maternal grandfather, Gilbert Rainault of Guildhall; three maternal uncles, Jason Rainault and Ben Rainault, both of Colebrook, and Travis Rainault of Berlin; two maternal aunts, Angel Rainault of Orleans, Vt., and Amanda Kelly Rainault of Portsmouth. Her maternal grandmother, Ruby Rainault, predeceased her in 2003. Visiting hours were held on Saturday, October 9 at the Bailey Funeral Home. A funeral service was held immediately after visiting hours, with Sandra MacKillop of Lancaster officiating. HAZEL HICKEY Hazel (Placey) Hickey of Center Ossipee died on October 4, 2004 at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. She was born on January 22, 1918 in Colebrook, the daughter of the late Reselthia and Walter Placey. She was a graduate of Colebrook Academy. A longtime resident of Ossipee, having moved there from Berlin in 1946, she owned and operated Hickey's IGA Grocery Store in Center Ossipee for 43 years with her husband, Edward P. Hickey. Hazel lived on the shore of Ossipee Lake for 32 years, enjoying the lake for gatherings of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward P. Hickey, in 1987, and her sister, Theda Placey, in 1980. She is survived by her son, Stephen E. Hickey and his wife Bonita of Center Ossipee; her daughters Ellen H. Laase and her husband Francis of Mirror Lake, and Barbara A. Hickey of Center Ossipee; seven grandchildren and two great-grandsons; and a brother, Winifred Placey of Whitefield. Calling hours were held on Thursday evening at the Lord Funeral Home in Center Ossipee. Funeral services were on Friday at the First Congregational Church in Center Ossipee, with burial in the Grant Hill Cemetery, Center Ossipee. Donations in Mrs. Placey's memory may be made to the Ossipee Town Library, New Hampshire State Library Talking Books Program, Ossi-pee Historical Society, or the American Diabetes Association. KATHERINE MOUSSEAU Mrs. Katherine A. (Smith) Mousseau, 87, of Pittsburg, died on Monday, October 11, 2004 at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. Mrs. Mousseau was born on July 11, 1917 in East Swanzey, the second daughter of the late Karl B. and Alice (Keyser) Smith. She attended elementary school in Royalston, Mass., and in 1931 was graduated as valedictorian of her class from high school at Winchendon, Mass. Mrs. Mousseau is preceded in death by her husband, Keane Mousseau in 1995, and by five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Mousseau was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. She will be remembered for her devout faith and generous hospitality. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful seasonal flower gardens, as well as a large vegetable garden which she planted and harvested with her late husband, Keane. During those years she canned and preserved hundreds of jars of fruits and vegetables for her family. Mrs. Mousseau enjoyed making braided rugs and log cabin quilts, crocheted doilies and afghans, and many afghans and mittens for her entire family. In her retirement, Mrs. Mousseau embroidered beautiful, large, counted cross-stitch pictures. Although she enjoyed and excelled in her role as homemaker and grandmother at her home in Pittsburg, she also spent several seasons cooking at The Glen. Mrs. Mousseau always enjoyed traveling, which she and her husband frequently did while visiting their children and grandchildren. They drove the eastern seaboard from Maine to Florida and drove west as far as Montana. In recent years she often traveled with one or more of her children, going to Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Oregon and California. To celebrate her 85th birthday, her five children and their spouses accompanied her on a three-day cruise to Nova Scotia. She was delighted by this surprise gift from them. Mrs. Mousseau is survived by five children: Julia Mitchell and her husband Robert of Milford, Helen Garcelon of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Oliver Mousseau of Chesterfield, N.H., Francis Mousseau and his wife Marlena of Lewiston, Maine, and Melissa Fandrich and her husband Edgar of Dunbarton, N.H.; two brothers, Henry Smith and Ralph Smith, both of Homosassa, Fla.; a sister, Ruby Ullrich of Lecanto, Fla.; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at the Community Church Hall. An interment service will follow at the Pittsburg Hollow Cemetery.
