ELIZABETH DOOLING Elizabeth "Bessie" (Bonvie) Dooling, 96, died on November 3, 2004 in Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartstown. Mrs. Dooling was born in Trackadie, Nova Scotia, to the late Simon and Bridget (Pereau) Bonvie. She was the wife for 31 years of the late Joseph Dooling, who predeceased her in 1964. She was a resident of Wellesley, Mass. since 1926, and moved to New Hampshire in 1997. Mrs. Dooling's family say she loved to make people laugh and was instantly loved by everyone with whom she came in contact. If everyone had a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother like her, the world would be a better place. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine "Gerry" Britt of Pittsburg; four grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Friday, November 5 at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home in Wellesley Hills, Mass. and interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Needham. Mr. Anthony Palermo, Jr., 77, of Colebrook, died on Wednesday evening, November 3, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital. Mr. Palermo was born on June 1, 1927 in Danbury, Conn., son of the late Anthony Palermo Sr. and Theresa (Tambone) Palermo. Mr. Palermo was married to Carolyn (Piskura) Palermo in 1950, and shortly thereafter joined the Army. He was honorably discharged after a year of service to return home to help his family. He owned and operated an asphalt driveway service for 15 years, and then worked for the Public Works Department for the City of Danbury until his retirement at the age of 65. He loved to fish and hunt, and it was his enjoyment of the outdoors that brought him to Colebrook and led to the building of his East Colebrook Road home with friends. Mr. Palermo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Palermo of Colebrook; two sons, Anthony Palermo III of Colebrook and Paul Palermo of Bonner, Mont.; his daughter, Mary Montesi and husband Eugene of Danbury; a granddaughter and three step-grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Services and interment will be held in Danbury at a later date. Local arrangements are under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home of Colebrook. Stewart, 92, of Colebrook, died late on Monday, November 1, 2004 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook. She was born on August 31, 1912 in Colebrook, the daughter of Leroy and Mariette (Hodge) Henson. Mrs. Stewart is survived by two sisters, Pearl Gooley of Newport Center, Vt., and Nellie Henson of Colebrook; by a brother, Everette Henson of North Haverhill, N.H.; and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Stewart, a sister, Evelyn Henson Lewis, and a brother, Howard Henson. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in the Horse Meadow Cemetery in North Haverhill. A memorial service will be conducted at the River of Life Church in Colebrook at a later date. Newman Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
