Ruth Ann Burbach Loved life EAST MONTPELIER, Vt. -- A former resident of Lancaster, N.H. and Guildhall, Vt., Ruth Ann Burbach, who was born on Feb. 11, 1995, died on Nov. 22, 2004 at the age of nine years. Adopted into the loving care of her parents, John and Lisa, and beloved brother, Joseph, at 14 days of age, Ruth led an extraordinary life. Ruth's life had been full of challenges, adversity and accomplishments. She worked intently on numerous physical and emotional health challenges, a visual syndrome, a learning disability and ultimately cancer. Ruth's high intelligence, deep sense of humor and intensity made a lasting impression on all people privileged to meet her! Ruth deeply loved her family, home, every aspect of nature and especially God. Ruth fully embraced life and loved to sing, dance and make music to the delight of many. She showed enormous artistic and creative talents in the form of arts and crafts, including knitting, sculpting, crocheting and pottery. Ruth was an accomplished gardener. Ruth enjoyed preparing meals and desserts for friends and family, and we all savored her culinary expertise. Ruth Ann Burbach was an "old soul," an Aquarian, a Master Teacher and a powerful healer. Ruth was beautiful and enchanting. She touched many people in her lifetime and we have learned countless lessons. We want to express abundant gratitude to Ruth Ann Burbach for her presence in our lives. We will love Ruth for all eternity. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at The Old Meeting House in East Montpelier Center, East Montpelier, Vt. Box 687, Montpelier Vermont 05601. Robert E. Dean TWIN MOUNTAIN -- Robert E. Dean, owner of the Tarry Ho Campground, died suddenly on Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004. The family includes his beloved wife, Josephine M. (O'Brien) Dean, children, grandchildren, sisters, stepmother, nieces and nephews. Interment was at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett, Mass. Henderson Funeral Home in Everett, Mass. was in charge of arrangements. A complete obituary will appear in next week's Democrat. Roland C. Johnson Avid woodworker, outdoorsman MILTON -- Roland C. Johnson, 76, of 267 North East Pond Road, died on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004 at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born on Jan. 18, 1928 in Alton, the son of Carl and Florence (Elliott) Johnson. Mr. Johnson and his wife had lived in Milton for the last 24 years, after moving from Groveton. He worked as a foreman at Star Lumber. He was an avid woodworker, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed making wood projects for his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. The family includes his wife of 33 years, Pauline (Allard) Johnson of Milton; 14 children, Nancy Robinson and husband Maurice, Patsy White and husband Allan Sr., Beverly Covill and husband Sheridan Sr., Priscilla Gumina and husband Gregory, Gail Lamb and husband Jeffery, Wayne Johnson and wife Michele, Holly Tanguay and husband Luc, Melody Johnson, Diane Gregoire and husband Kevin, Penny Gagnon and husband Kevin, Lisa Eaton and partner Laura Judge, Steven Johnson and wife Lorraine, Valerie Lockard and husband Kenneth and Danny Johnson and wife Cydney; two brothers, Ernest Johnson and wife Dot of Groveton and Richard Johnson and wife Anna of Milton; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Your VNA, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867. Graydon L. Lyons Dairy farmer COLEBROOK -- Graydon L. Lyons, 72, of Diamond Pond Road, died on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, surrounded by his loving wife and three children and their spouses. He was born on March 10, 1932 in Colebrook, a son of Albion and Erna (Goodwin) Lyons. Mr. Lyons was a lifelong resident. He and Eleanor (Corbett) were married on June 26, 1954. They operated their dairy farm, Gra-Elie, in Kidderville from 1954 to 1978. From 1978 to 1993, he operated the farm as a partner with his son, Bruce. He was graduated from Colebrook Academy in 1951. He was very active in the Colebrook Chapter of the Future Farmers of America. In 1953, he received the FFA Star American Farmer Award for the North Atlantic Region. During that year he served as the state president for the Granite State Association. In the early 1970s he was a charter member and president of the Colebrook FFA Alumni Chapter. He served on the Colebrook School Board from 1977 to 1980. Mr. Lyons was a master of the Mohawk Grange 217 for the past 25 years and had been a granger since 1954. He had been a member of the Monadnock Congregational Church since 1956 and served as trustee and was deacon at the time of his death. He was a member of the Evening Star Lodge 37 F&AM of Colebrook since 1967 and the Eureka Chapter 2 Order of Eastern Star since 1968. He served as worthy patron in 1976 and 1977. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He enjoyed going to his grandchildren's ball games, recitals, plays and proms. Family members include his wife of 50 years, Eleanor Lyons of Colebrook; a daughter, Eldonna Brooks, and two sons, Bruce and Brent, all of Colebrook; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Albion Lyons of Colebrook; three nieces; two nephews; an aunt; and several cousins. His father, Albion Lyons died in 1951 and his mother, Erna Lyons in 1976. Calling hours were held on Tuesday at the Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook, with an Eastern Star service at the evening hours. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at the Monadnock Congregational Church in Colebrook, with Pastor Rebecca Larson officiating.
