He grew up in North Andover, MA and graduated from North Andover High School in 1979 and received an engineering degree from Northeastern University in 1984. Bruce worked as a contractor in his own firm, Roundabout Property Care and had previously worked with his father for many years at Ferrous Technology Inc., a Hamblet family firm that operated for many years in Lawrence. He was a terrific neighbor to those in his Buswell Avenue neighborhood. Known for his willingness to help on any project, lend any tool, and join any barbeque. He was a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge and on the board of the Merrimack Valley YMCA Camping Services. Bruce was the beloved husband of Nancy (Reed) Hamblet and adored father of their two children, Nicole, 12 and Lindsey, 10 all of Methuen; his father, James Hamblet of Hebron, NH; one sister, Laurie Messina and her husband, Sam and their three children, Michael, Christine and David all of North Andover; one brother, Eric Hamblet and his wife, Elizabeth and their two children, Olivia and Evan all of Princeton, NJ also his father and mother in law, Kenneth and Mary Lou Reed from Claremont. Tyler struggled and lived courageously with a serious skin disease, dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. His sense of humor and bravery gave him strength throughout his life. He was born in Springfield, VT on January 22, 1982 the son of John and Gloria (White) Gates and had resided in Charlestown all his life. He graduated from Fall Mountain Regional High School in 2001, attended classes at the NH Vo-Tech in Claremont and Franklin Pierce College. His favorite past times include a comic collection, animals, especially his golden retriever, Stephen King novels and computers. The surviving family includes his father, John B. He was born on July 13, 1954 at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH the second of three sons born to Arthur and Pauline (Lewis) St. Martin. Peter, a Stevens High School graduate of the Class of 1972, also attended Northeastern University, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Pi fraternity and stood as a civil engineering degree candidate. While in high school, he scored in the top 10% nationally for the JETS (Junior Engineering Technical Search Test), and excelled in many extracurricular sports, including track & field, downhill skiing and ski jumping. Peter worked in several fields throughout his lifetime, including concrete plant inspection, engineering, and general sales. For the past twelve years he has acted in the capacity as President and Salesman for Freedom Publications, the largest independent phone book publisher in the state of Vermont. In addition to being President, Peter was also a Co-owner and Founder of Freedom Publications. He excelled in all aspects of what could surly be considered his true sales calling, before retiring in 2002. An active member of the community, Peter served a number of organizations with dedication and ingenuity. He is a former member of CEDA (Charlestown Economic Development Association), St. Catherine’s Parish Council, Charlestown Rotary Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Peter has been an avid outdoorsman, skier, sports enthusiast and devoted purveyor of W.W.II books and memorabilia. A loving husband and father, and cornerstone of the community, his interest and talents were widely shared and known throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Laura, and three children, Katherine, James and Elizabeth St. Martin of Charlestown; his parents, Arthur and Pauline St. Martin of Charlestown; four aunts, Toni Jardin and Theresa Neal of Winter Springs, FL, Zora St Martin of Newport and June Gates of Drumore, PA; two brothers, David St Martin and his wife Gail of Evans, GA and James St Martin and his wife Joyce of Claremont; his father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Marion Matt of Marlboro, VT and many cousins, sister-and-brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Pederson Beatrice E. Pederson, 89, of Jarvis Hill Road in Claremont, NH, died Saturday afternoon, September 11, 2004 at the Valley Regional Hospital. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on March 13, 1915 the daughter of Walter E. and Alice M. (Parker) Patch. She lived in her home on Jarvis Hill for the last sixty-six years. She took great pride in her home, which is believed to be the fourth oldest home in Claremont. She was known to many as “Aunt Bea”. She was a long time communicant of the Union Episcopal Church, loved to cook and was an avid bingo player. She was the widow of John Philip Pederson whom she married on October 31, 1936 and he died December 3, 1991. The surviving family includes one son, Donald P. Pederson of Unity; one daughter, Mrs. Michael E. (Janice L.) Ranney of Cornish; four grandsons, Sean Pederson, Christopher Pederson, Jeffrey P. Ranney and Justin W. Ranney also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by four brothers, Harold Patch, Robert Patch, Clayton Parkinson and Clifton Parkinson. She was born in Burlington, VT on July 24, 1918 the daughter of Theodore and Xanthippe (Xanthakos) Scutakes and had resided in Montpelier, VT most of her life. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1936 and attended American College for Girls in Elleniko, Greece and also attended New York University and Columbia University. She was a loving mother and wife who spent forty-five years assisting her husband in his Veterinary practice in Montpelier. Russell C. Johnson Russell C. Johnson, Sr., 84, of Schoolhouse Road in Ascutney, VT, died Monday evening, September 13, 2004 at the Valley Regional Hospital. He was born in Hayes, Minnesota on November 13, 1919 the son of Olof and Alma (Johnson) Johnson. He resided in Ascutney, VT for the past 13 years and previously lived in Claremont, NH, White River Jct., VT, Bellows Falls, VT and Portsmouth, NH. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy on the USS Bang submarine. He was a master mechanic having worked for Flanders & Griffen of Portsmouth for 10 years, Perini Construction of Framingham, MA for over 25 years and last for International Division of Ryan Crane Construction of N. Haven, CT for 10 years in the Middle East. He retired in 1984 and enjoyed woodworking and traveling. He was a member of the International Union of Engineers #98. He was the widower of Lillian (Seavey) Johnson whom he married on November 24, 1945 and she died in 1975. The surviving family includes one son, Russell C. Mary Louise Perry Marie Louise Perry, 81, formerly of Lonsdale Avenue, Claremont, NH died Thursday evening, September 23, 2004 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH born on March 30, 1923, the daughter of Napoleon and Annie M. (Fontaine) Archambault. Mrs. Perry retired in 1988 from the Sullivan County Nursing Home where she worked several years as a nurse's aid and previously at the Claremont Nursing Home and many years ago in the shoe shops in the area. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and flowers. She was the widow of Donald E. Perry who died Aug. 28, 1985. Cushion, 87, of Elm Street in Claremont, died Saturday morning, September 25, 2004 at the Valley Regional Hospital. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on October 8, 1916 the daughter of David Henry and Ruth Edith (Ainsworth) Goodhue. Mrs. Cushion retired in 1984 from H.D. Harris "NAPA" Auto Parts on Main Street where she worked as a bookkeeper for twenty years. She worked as a manager of the Claremont and Ascutney Drive-In-Theatre and the Magnet Theatre on Sullivan Street in Claremont and in the 30's she worked with Dr. Haubrich Veterinarian Clinic. During World War II she learned to drive trucks and was with the Civil Air Patrol. She was a Charter Member of the Claremont Historical Society, a member of the Woodman Chapter of Eastern Star, the Col. Samuel Ashley Chapter of D.A.R., had been a scout leader for many years and was active in the Republican Party. She loved being with her family and never missed a sporting event involving her children and grandchildren was known as "MA" to many and also enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting. She was the widow of Otto Joseph Cushion whom she married on August 31, 1951 and he died July 8, 1964. The surviving family includes three daughters, Katherine C. Lancaster and her husband, Ed of Goshen, Edith P. "DeDe" Cushion and her significant other, Robert Mann and Barbara C. Agel and her husband J. Stephen all of Claremont; one son, Arnold "Tink" Cushion and his wife, Karen of Claremont; one step-daughter, Rita Johnson of Bucksport, ME; seven grandchildren, Edmund "Ted" Davis, Jessica Kay Davis, Victoria "Tori" Agel, Ryan Joseph Cushion, Adam Laban Cushion, Sean Moher Cushion and Patrick Richard Cushion; one niece, Lois Goodhue ; one nephew, Peter Goodhue; one grand niece, Alison Dorow and one grand-nephew, Tony D'Agostino. Victor Joseph Henault Victor Joseph Henault, 90, of Thrasher Road where he lived with his nephew for the past fifteen years and formerly of 58 Pleasant Street in Claremont, died Friday afternoon, September 24, 2004 at the Valley Regional Hospital. He was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on May 3, 1914 the son of Leonce and Marie (Martel) Henault. Mr. Henault retired July 1, 1976 from Joy Manufacturing Company where he worked as a milling machine operator for forty years. He was a communicant of St Mary Parish, a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1201. He enjoyed walking around town and visiting with people. She owned and operated Bonnie Beauty Salon on 7 Trinity Street and worked as a hairdresser/cosmetologist for many years. Mrs. Goggin was a long time member of the Business and Professional Women, the Ladies Union Aid Society, the Women of the Moose, the Board of Senior Citizens and was active in the Hairdresser and Cosmetologist Association. She was the widow of Robert "Scotty" Simpson who died in 1960 and John "Jack" Goggin who died in May of 2004. The surviving family includes one daughter, Beryl S. Mrs. Greenwood retired in 1965 from Dartmouth Woolen Mill where she worked in the card room for thirty-one years. She was a communicant of St Mary Parish. She was the widow of Dennis Paul Greenwood whom she married on January 8, 1938 and he died May 25, 1994. The surviving family includes two sons, Dennis E.
