She was born in Claremont, NH on September 14, 1945 and had resided here most of her life. She was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1963. Mrs. Faucher worked as a bookkeeper for Argus Champion and Howe Motors in Claremont, Jones & Lamson Machine Company in Springfield, VT and as a clerk at Market Basket in Claremont. She held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Polish American Citizens Club. Mrs. Faucher enjoyed football. The surviving family includes three daughters, Melinda Palmer and her husband, Richard, Melissa Barrette and Steve Ward and Dee J. Parker and Barry Tucker, Jr. all of Claremont; four grandchildren; her parents, Richard and Fay Sanderson of Claremont; two sisters, Sandra Sanderson of Newbury and Deborah Sanderson-Booth of Claremont; two nieces, one nephew; her former husband and close friend, Richard Barrette of Claremont and a special friend, Buster Papps of Burlington, VT. Andrew Victor Barden Andrew Victor Barden, 86, of Red Water Brook Road in Claremont, NH, died Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Valley Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on February 28, 1928 the son of Victor F. and Anastasia (Mihans) Barden and had resided in Claremont since 1968. He graduated from Enfield High School in 1946, served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948. He went to the University of New Hampshire where he received his B.S. Degree and Masters of Education Degree. He worked at the Lee Lime Corp. in Lee, MA from 1953 to 1960. He began teaching in Boscawen, later went to Nottingham, Epping and settled in Claremont in 1968, where he taught reading and fifth grade at Bluff, Way, North, Maple Ave. and last at Disnard Schools and retired in 1987. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Local, State and National Teachers Association, International Reading Association, the Association of Retarded Citizens and was on the Board of Developmental Services of Sullivan County. The surviving family includes his wife, Joyce (Wheeler) Barden of Claremont whom he married on January 15, 1956; three sons, Victor H. Barden and his wife, Dianne of Claremont, William D. Barden of Westminster, VT and Edwin M. Barden and his wife, Donna of Vershire, VT; four step grandchildren, Danniel Day, Ste____ Manning, Christopher Shepard and Kysa Doten; one sister, Patricia B. Theroux, 87, of Wayne Avenue, died Saturday evening, February 5, 2005 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on January 5, 1918 the daughter of Alfred H. and Evelina M. (Descoteau) Baron. She was a graduate of St Mary's High School in the Class of 1935. Mrs. Theroux worked at the Claremont General Hospital for five years in the Dietary and Nutrition's Department and for the Ideal Laundry in the Dryer Department for twelve years and retired in 1972. She was a communicant of St Mary Church, a member and past treasurer of the St. Anne Society, the St Mary's Alumni Association, the Cenacle of True Devotion at St Joseph Church, the Congress of Senior Citizens, the Circle Eight Square Dance and Village Square Dance Groups and the American Canados Association. She was the widow of Eugene J. Theroux whom she married on July 2, 1938 and he died on December 1, 1992. The surviving family includes two sons, Alfred E. Theroux and his wife, Carolyn of Minneapolis, MN, Leo Theroux and his wife, Nancy of Pembroke, NH; two daughters, Mrs. John (Rita) Wolfe and Mrs. Doris and the late, Cecil Edwin Dorr all of Claremont; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Arthur Baron of Seminole, FL, George Baron of Williston, VT, and Victor Baron of Claremont and several nieces, nephews and cousins. John Christopher Pomiecko (see photo - http://www.usgwarchives.net/nh/obits/photos/2005/pomiecko_john_christopher.jpg) John Christopher "Chris" Pomiecko, 48, died Sunday evening, February 6, 2005, in a fatal car accident. He was born in Claremont, NH on July 2, 1956 the son of Victor and Hazel (Fortin) Pomiecko and had been living in Massachusetts for 24 years. He went to St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Stevens High School in 1974. He attended Middlebury College and then transferred to McGill University, graduating in 1980. After working as a stringer for the local weekly newspaper he moved to Boston. He worked at M.I.T. in various capacities for 21 years. For the past six years, he has been the Program Administrator of the Comparative Media Studies. Chris took great pleasure in restoring his house in Dorchester, MA where he hosted weekly bridge games. In addition, he was an eclectic gardener and an amateur photographer. He enjoyed tennis, swimming and cross country skiing. He was also an avid film buff and duplicate bridge player. He played bridge at venues around Boston and the Twin State and Upper Valley (NH) areas. He was an enthusiastic and devoted uncle to his two nieces, Sophia and Natalya (Martins) and was involved with their lives on a regular basis. He combined his love of his nieces and movies most recently on Christmas Eve when he took them to see Lemony Snicket and then enjoyed Christmas Eve and the following Christmas Day with them. The surviving family includes his mother, Hazel (Fortin) Pomiecko, of Claremont, his sister, Catherine, her husband, George, and his two nieces, Sophia and Natalya all of Natick, MA. He was pre-deceased by his father, Victor Pomiecko, who died in 1996. Survivors also include his uncle and aunt, Donald and Joan Fortin of Ft. Myers, Fl and Eastman. He also leaves nine cousins. A wake will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont, NH on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning, February 12th, in St Mary's Church at 11 o'clock with Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Nida Belkovicz Eaton Nida Belkovicz Eaton, 94, formerly of 243 Broad Street in Claremont, died Wednesday morning, February 9, 2005 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home. She was the oldest of four children, born in Vilna, Russia on February 17, 1910 the daughter of Aleksandr and Agathia (Boboriko) Belkovicz and resided in Claremont most of her life. Nida graduated from Stevens High School in the Class of 1928. She worked as a secretary, a shoe stitcher and was a nurses aid at the Sullivan County Nursing Home. She was a member of the Russian Club of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in her youth. She was the widow of Donald Eaton and was also pre-deceased by one brother, John Belkovicz. The surviving family includes one son, Bryant and his wife, Martha (Estle) Eaton of Hampton, New Brunswick, Canada; grandchildren, Alexander and Alisa and one great-grandson, Linden; one sister, Claudia Romoska of Massachusetts and one brother, Walter Belkovich of Brentwood, NH. There will be no visiting hours or services at this time. A private graveside committal service will be held in Irasburg, VT later in the Spring. Marie Mae Perrigo Marie Mae Perrigo, 83, formerly of Bridgewater, ME, died Wednesday afternoon, February 9, 2005 at the Haven Health Care on Route 120 in Claremont where she had been a patient for the past five years. She was born in Bridgewater, ME on April 2, 1921 the daughter of Charles and Maude (Delong) McKeen and had resided in Bridgewater for seventy-nine years. Marie lived a faithful and simple life to the glory of her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a devoted Christian and was actively involved in the Bridgewater Free Will Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School teacher for over forty years and for some of those years she also acted as Sunday School Superintendent. She sang in the church choir and did many soprano solos. She was the widow of Robert Linwood Perrigo whom she married on April 2, 1921 and was also pre-deceased by two brothers and two sisters. The surviving family includes, two daughters, Katrina Higdon of Prospect, CT and Denise Wilcox of Presque Isle, ME; one son, Pastor Robert Perrigo, Jr. of Claremont; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grand-children; six nieces and four nephews. Kenneth Charles Smith Kenneth Charles Smith, 69, of Nichols Road in Lempster, NH, died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at his home. He was born in Claremont, NH on April 16, 1935 the son of Ray and Mary (Clough) Smith. He was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1954 and graduated from Thompson School of Agriculture at UNH in 1962. He served in the US Air Force after Korea. He lived in Waltham, MA for ten years and worked at Gore Place. In 1974 he moved back to Claremont where he lived for fourteen years and had resided in Lempster since 1988. He retired in 2000 from Kathan Gardens in Newport where he worked for twenty years. He was a former member of the Society for the Preservation of NH Forests and the Wilderness Society. The surviving family includes his wife, Thirza Pamela (Gear) Smith, of Lempster, whom he married on March 29, 1958; one son, Shane A. Smith of Concord; two grandchildren, Danielle and Mason; one sister, Patricia Parent of Lebanon; two brothers, Ronald Smith of Claremont and The Villages, FL and Ray Smith, Jr. of Claremont; five aunts; one uncle and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by one brother, Philip Smith. There are no visiting hours. A graveside committal service will be held at a later date in the spring in Hope Hill Cemetery, in North Charlestown. James Leonard Wing James Leonard Wing, 55, of Mattson Road in Chester, VT, died at his home on Tuesday evening, February 15, 2005. He was born in Newport, VT on November 28, 1949 the son of Preston and Hazel (Leonard) Wing. He graduated from North Troy, VT High School, lived in Charlestown for fifteen years and had resided in Chester, VT for the past nine years. He was on total disability since an accident in 1987. He had been a carpenter by trade. He loved basketball, hunting and fishing. The surviving family includes his wife, Stephanie C. (Palumbo) Wing, of Chester, VT whom he married on August 24, 1985; one son, Jesse Leonard Wing of Middlebury, VT; one brother, Gary Wing of Rutland, VT and nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by one son, Thomas Anthony Wing on July 28, 1994 and one brother, Auddie Wing. Byrnes, 78, of Paris Avenue in Charlestown died on February 17, 2005 at the Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Byrnes was a beloved husband, father and friend and was surrounded by family at the time of his death. Mr. Byrnes was born in Watertown, NY on October 24, 1926 the son of Lawrence T. and Clara (Clark) Byrnes. He grew up in Copenhagen, NY where he was a star athlete and known for his singing abilities and wonderful sense of humor. Following an industrial accident in which he lost all fingers on his left hand, Mr. Byrnes successfully completed high school, graduating from Copenhagen High School in the Class of 1944. He enjoyed growing up with his brother Robert and lifelong friends Cliff Chamberlain and Sally Lynch. Mr. Byrnes graduated S.U.N.Y. at Cortland, and began a business career that spanned forty years. He served as a parole officer and insurance salesman before coming to work at the J.P. Lewis paper mill in Beaver Falls, NY in the early 1960's. Mr. Byrnes worked for 30 years in the paper industry. He moved to Walpole, NH in 1978 to continue his work as Labor Relations and Governmental Affairs Manager for the specialty paperboard division of Boise Cascade of Brattleboro, VT. During his career in labor relations, Lawrence was known as a skilled negotiator who was both tenacious and humorous. He retired in 1990. Mr. Byrnes married Laura (Varga) Byrnes in 1953. They were wonderful parents to their children: Elizabeth A. Byrnes Bailey and John L. Byrnes. After Laura Byrnes' death, Mr. Byrnes met and married Trudy Bailey Byrnes of Charlestown in 1993. As Mr. Byrnes himself often said, she was the love of his life. They enjoyed a happy and fun filled marriage together, celebrating their tenth year anniversary in 2003 surrounded by their eleven children as well as sons and daughters-in-laws. Mr. Byrnes had a lifelong interest in politics. He was elected as a NY Assemblyman in the early 1960's. He was a delegate from NY at the 1960 Republican National Convention. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Republican Party and also a member of the B.P.O.E. and the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Byrnes also loved to follow sports and a great fan of the Boston Celtics and the Syracuse University basketball team. He became an avid Red Sox fan and rejoiced in their World Series victory. Mr. Byrnes was overjoyed to become the head of a very large family with his wife Trudy. He dearly loved all of his step-sons and daughters, their spouses and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Robert M. Byrnes and his sister-in-law Donna Byrnes of CT. He is also survived by his eleven children and their spouses; Elizabeth A. and Steven Bailey; John L. and Catherine Byrnes; Nicki and Bruce Conover; Robert and Cheryl Bailey; Patrick and Karen Bailey; Rosemary and Dennis Griffin; Valerie Bailey and Mike Gallagher; Patty and Phil Shand; Laurie and Mark Monty; Jeff Bailey and Jeannie Crowell. He will also be greatly missed by his twenty-five grandchildren: April, Matt, Kylie, Heath, Angela, Steven John, Gabe, Charlie, Graham, Molly, Jeremy, Jaimie, Jessie, MacKenzie, Hillary, Tim, Bailey, Maddie, Chelsea, Alex, Britney, Gabe, Nate, Nick and Mia; eleven great-grandchildren, Lily, Willow, Kelsey, Kaitelyn, Isaac, Hunter, Aidan, Jordan, Ava, Nina and Dylan. Mr. Byrnes also enjoyed his great-grandchildren and was looking forward to this summer's birth of another great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by his twin grandsons, Zachary and Anthony Byrnes who died at birth. Lambert, 75, of Centennial (Eastman) Street, died Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2005 at the Valley Regional Hospital of a sudden illness. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on September 25, 1929, the daughter of George and Emeline (Chambers) Blish. She was a graduate of Stevens High School the class of 1947. June's children always called there mom the best domestic engineer in Claremont. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church. June's family meant the world to her. Mrs. Lambert married Raymond D. Lambert, Jr. on December 24, 1970 and was widowed on July 21, 2004. The surviving family includes two daughters and two sons, Tracy and Scott Pope and Kim and John Grady both of Claremont; Kevin & Terry McClelland of Croydon, Gregg and Cindy McClelland of Unity; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brother, Kenneth Blish and Robert Blish of Claremont and Clyde Blish of Coralville, Iowa; two sisters, Stella Granger of Kenneth City, Florida and Beatrice Tebo of Claremont. Wright, Sr. Richard W. Wright, Sr., 80, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005 at the Mount Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, VT. He was born in Springfield, VT on March 2, 1924 the son of Joseph and Mamie (Blodgett) Wright. He grew up in Springfield, VT and at the age of fourteen was out working. He worked at various jobs. Retired in 1986 from Dorr Woolen Mill in Newport, NH as a maintenance man mainly in the boiler room. In 1951 he married Virginia (Flynn) Wright and they had six children. Virginia died in 1985 and then Richard remarried in December of 1986 to Doris (Morse) Wright. He is survived by his wife Doris of Windsor, VT and his six children; Patricia Borcuk and her husband Manfred of Charlestown, Richard Wright, Jr., of Claremont, Fredrick Wright and his wife Roxanne of Newport, Michael Wright of Windsor, VT, Barbara Vashaw and her husband Raymond of Claremont, Kathy Ovitt and her husband Kevin of Ascutney, VT; step-children; Allen Breault and his wife Bonny of Claremont, Clarence Breault and his wife Theda of Newport, VT, Rene Verge and his wife Cheryl of Newport, VT, Donna Paul and her husband Michael of Brownington, VT, Ike Verge and his wife Katha of Hartford, ME; twenty-eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Robert Wright and his wife Esther; and a sister Bertha Davis. He was born in Birmingham, England on February 11, 1944 the son of Jesse and Florence May (Gilbert) Jevons. He was a graduate of Wednesbury College of Advanced Technology. Mr. Jevons retired in 1998 from Joy Manufacturing where he worked as a metallurgist. He had previously worked for Crown Non-Ferrous Foundry as a plant manager in Philadelphia and for Blaw-Knox Foundry & Mill Machinery as a manager of foundry operations in Indiana. He was a member of the Institute of Metallurgists, Institute of Welding, and Chartered Engineer Great Britain. The surviving family includes his wife Doreen (Francis) Jevons, of Claremont, whom he married on March 5, 1966; his mother, Florence May Jevons of Suffolk, England; two children, Rebecca Catherine Jevons of Enfield, NH; Stephen David Jevons of Fairlee, VT; one sister, Valerie Clerkin and her husband James of Suffolk, England; two nephews, Christopher and Kevin Clerkin of Suffolk, England. He was predeceased by his father, Jesse Jevons. He was a devoted husband and father who loved to spend time with his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed being able to hike and hunt in the woods behind his home and fly-fish in the local rivers. There will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
