Tyree TRANSCRIBED: CParziale, April 2001 ***************************************************************************** Know all men by thefe Prefents that I John Hill of Durham In the County of Strafford within the State of New Hampshire Yeoman for and In Confideration of the fum of Two Hundred and forty Pounds lawful Money to me In hand before the Delivery hereof well and truly paid by Benjamin Chefley of Durham aforesaid Gentleman the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have Given Granted Bargained & Sold and be these prefents do give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff convey & confirmed unto him the faid Benjamin his heirs and afsigns forever a Certain Tract or Parcel of Land In Durham aforesaid Situate on the West Fide of the Mast Road (so called) with a houfe and Orchard Upon the fame Containing by Eftimation Three Acres Be the same more or Lefs the Whole that I bought of Nathaniel Hill as By his Deed on record May more fully appear Butted & bounded as follows Viz beginning at a post that the Gate formerly hung to then Runing Down by faid Road to a Stone Wall that parts said land from land of Jonathan Warners then Runing Westerly by faid Wall to to the end thereof then Runing Northerly upon a Strait line to Land that I sold to Thomas Chefley Deceafed then Runing Easterly by faid land To the first mentioned bound To Have and to hold Said granted Premife with all Privileges and appurtenances to the fame appertaining to him the faid Benjamin Chefley his heirs and afsigns forever to his and their only Proper ufe and benefit and I the faid John Hill my Heirs Executors & Adminiftrators do hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the faid Benjamin chefley his heirs and afsigns that Before the Delivery hereof I am the lawful owner of the above premifes and Am lawfully seized and pofsefsed of the fame in my own right in fee simple and have full power & Lawful authority to grant and convey the fame in manner Aforesaid that faid Premifes are free and Clear of all & every Incumbrance Whatsoever Furthermore I the said John Hill my heirs Executors and Adminiftrators Do hereby covenant and Engage the said Demified Premifes unto him the said Benjamin Chefley his Heirs and afsigns Against the lawful Claims and Demands of any Perfon or Persons whatsoever for ever hereafter to Warrant Secure and Defend and Merey the Wife of me the faid John Hill doth by Virtue of thefe Prefents Yield up and Surrender all her Right of premifes unto him the faid Benjamin Chefley his heirs and afsigns In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the thirty first Day of December Anno Domini One Thoufand seven hundred &Seventy Eight ~~~~ Signed Sealed & Delivered} John Hill [Seal] In prefence of us } State of New Hampshire Nath'l Hill } Valentine Clark } February 23 1779 Then John Hill Above Named Acknowledged the foregoing Instrument to be his free act & deed Before ~~~ E.
