LANDMARKS: Crummit's Hill NAMES: CRUMMIT, Joshua; Crummit's Hill. This hill is in Durham, on the lower side of Crummit's creek, near the site of the old mill. There is another Crummit's hill in Lee, at the upper end of the Stepping-Stones road, so named from Joshua Crummit, who had 25 acres laid out to him on the south side of the Newtown road, May 19, 1749. The name of Crummit's hill is also sometimes given to Otis' hill in Somersworth, otherwise called Ricker's Hill. (See Otis' Hill.) PG 53 Submitted by C.
