Landmarks in Ancient Dover, New Hampshire by Mary P. Thompson, Durham, N.H. ©1892, Printed by the Republican Press Association, Concord, N.H. LANDMARKS: Dram Rock. NAMES: NONE ASSOCIATED Dram Rock. This rock, according to Dame's map of Newington in 1805, is in the Long Reach, off the Newington shore, about half way between Bloody Pt. and the Portsmouth line. It is apparently the same as Shag Rock, and no doubt derived its name from the boatmen who regarded it as a signal for a dram when they ascended the river. PG 65 - Submitted by C.
