Landmarks in Ancient Dover, New Hampshire by Mary P. Thompson, Durham, N.H. ©1892, Printed by the Republican Press Association, Concord, N.H. LANDMARKS: Fowling Marsh NAMES: ROBERTS, John; ROBERTS, William; Fowling Marsh. Mentioned Aug. 6, 1691, when John Roberts gave his grandsons, Wm. and John Roberts, "a piece of marsh lying on Nechowanuck side, commonly called ye fowling marsh," with the flats belonging thereto. This name has not been perpetuated, but the land referred to was evidently in the lower part of Rollinsford. PG 74 - Submitted by C.
