1629 - Some of the planters who were scattered over Massachusetts, wishing to make a 
settlement in the neighborhood of the Piscataqua, and imitating the example of those at 
Plymouth, who had purchased their lands of the Indians, (as they conscientiously thought 
this necessary to give them a just title) procured a general assembly of the Indians at 
Swamscot Fall, (now Exeter) where a deed was obtained from four Sycamores.
