1709 - This year several persons were killed at Oyster river, Exeter, etc. ( which see).  
General Nicholson marched against the French and Indians as far as to a place called 
Wood Creek, but obtaining no assistance from England, and his men not being paid, for 
the two former years, his whole army was disbanded.
