This was a sever loss to the French and inflamed them to obtain retribution. The amount of New Hampshire troops engaged in this expedition was about 500 men. In July the Indians made their appearance at Fort Dummer, and at the great meadows near Westmoreland. (See Hinsdale). Submitted by T.C.
