Part Two of Gazetteer:

NEWICHAWANNOCK RIVER - is the west and main branch of the Piscataqua.  It is 
called Salmon falls river as far as the lower falls in Berwick where it assumes the above 
name, which it retains till it unites with the Cochecho, and flows on to Hilton’s point.
