50th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Garland Foster's Daily Democrat Dover, NH Russell Garlands Guests of Honor at Reception Mr. and Mrs. Russell W. Garland of 503 Amherst St. were guests of honor at a reception held Sunday at the First Congretional Church on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosting the affair with the help of their families were Mrs. Theodore Wroblewski of Danvers, Mass and Mrs. William W. Metcalfe of Amherst, Mass., daughters of the honored couple. Mr. and Mrs. Harold C. McAllister, sister and brother-in-law of Mrs. Garland, who served as the couple's attendants, were also present for the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Garland were married Aug. 23, 1916, at the home of Mrs. Garland's parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. George G. Hoitt, Durham. Having lived in Manchester since their marriage, the couple has been active in several organizations in the city and are members of the First Congregational Church. Mr. Garland was associated in the Clark Loan Company with his father, the late George N. Garland, for many years. Other Anniversary activities included a family dinner for 18 guests, including five grandchildren.
