The Dover Tribune, Dover, NH April 28, 1932, page 8 Obituaries and Obsequies Popular Dover Resident Dies Edward Jacob Purinton Edward Jacob Purinton, a life long resident of Dover, passed away at his home, 11 Hamilton Street, Tuesday afternoon. He was the son of the late Jacob K. and Maria (Bassett) Purinton, and was a lineal descendant of Peter Dam, the second deacon of the First church in Dover, who came from England with Capt. Hilton and settled at Dover Neck in 1633. Mr. Purinton leaves a wife, Harriett F., two sons, Jacob W. of Los Angeles, Cal., Charles A. of Dover; a daughter, Helen P. Brown of Rye, N.Y., and four grandchildren. He was a member of Moses Paul Lodge A.F. and A.M. and a charter member of the Major Waldron Council Royal Arcanum. Services will be held at his late home, 11 Hamilton Street, Friday, at 1:45 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
