Mrs. Catherine Hickey, aged 86 
years, passed away at her home on 
Hickey street after a short illness last 
Friday.  Funeral services were held 
Monday morning at the St. Mary’s 
Catholic church in Rochester where 
the solomn requiem mass was cele-
brated by the pastor, Father John 
J. McNamara.  Mrs. Hickey was one 
of the oldest residents of this place.  
She was born in Ireland, the daughter 
of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Rodden, but 
came to this country when very small.  
She has been a resident of this sec-
tion for many years.  She leaves to 
mourn her four sons, John and 
Thomas of this place, James of West 
Lebanon, Me., and Charles of Ver-
mont, and two daughters.  Burial 
was in St. Mary’s cemetery in Roch-
ester and funeral arrangements were 
in charge of J. Hervey Edgerly.
