J. L. Merrill, Town of Acworth, 1869, page 198 JOSEPH CHATTERTON was the son of Abraham, the grandson of Joseph, one of two brothers who emigrated from England to New Haven, Connecticut. JOSEPH settled in Acworth 1768. He was however present in town the proceeding year. A part of this time there was not another white person in town. He married Hepzibah Brown - children, I.
