Merrill, Town of Acworth, 1869, page 218 GAWIN GILMORE was of the third generation from Robert Gilmore, who came from Coleraine, Ireland, with his wife Mary Ann Kennedy and settled in Londonderry, New Hampshire in the early days of that town. Robert Gilmore had four sons, William had four children, Robert, by his first wife Anne, had, James Elizabeth By his second wife, John and Rodger, who lived in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. William Mariam Jemima. Mary James Anne. Robert John - died unmarried. James - married Jean Baptiste, and had first, John, who lived in Rockingham, Vermont. Jonathan, second, who lived in Ira, Vermont and had several sons, of who, James, Robert, William and Jonathan removed to Ohio. James, third, - resided in Windham, New Hampshire; was a Captain in the war of the Revolution, afterwards Colonel; was the father of, James John Baptist NANCY (Nesmith) ROBERT GAWIN MARGARET (see George Clark family) ANNA (see James Dickey 2nd family) RUTH (see Duncan family) Jonathan, who died in Charlestown Jenny (Caldwell), who lived in Nottingham Betsey Polly, who died unmarried Jane, fourth - married Robert Pattison of Saco, Maine Margaret, fifth - married George Pattison of Coleraine, Massachusetts Elizabeth, sixth, - married Samuel Wilson of Londonderry Agnes, seventh, - married Benjamin Nesmith Mary Ann, eighth, - married John Bell, Esq. of Londonderry. GAWIN was a blacksmith, settled in Acworth in 1790; was also a trader from 1815 to 1828; was chosen State Senator in 1823 and 1824; was the first High Sheriff of Sullivan County, from 1827 to 1837; an Elector of President and Vice-President in 1836, and a Justice of the Peace from 1805 to the time of his death, 1841; - married first Sally Grout (see Grout family) - children, I.
