JAMES GOWING, the grandson of James of Jaffrey, and son of Benjamin of Rockingham, Vermont,
settled in Acworth, and afterwards removed to New York, - married Susan Hayward - children,
I. Esther E. - married Homer Murdough (see Murdough family), residence New York.
II. Betsey  - married Levi Marsh - children,
	1. Jennie
III. Alonzo - died
IV. Joseph - died

JEHIAL GOWING, brother of JAMES, settled in Acworth in 1841, now resides in Chester, Vermont - 
married Arvilla Gowing - children, 
I. Ann - married Trueman H. Richardson (see Richardson family).
II. Cyrus H. - died young

LEVI GOWING was also grandson of James, and son of Levi of Springfield, Vermont - married Mary
Emery, settled in Acworth in 1841, now resides in Ascutneyville, Vermont - children,
I. Elvira - married Daniel March (see March family).
II. Norman - died in military hospital at Burlington, Vermont
III. Amanda - married Philo F. Brackett - died in Wisconsin.
IV. Mary J. - married Frank Clark, residence in Rockingham
V. Charles
