His father was an officer in the French war, and joined the British army at the commencement of the Revolutionary War. Frederic, though fitted for college, gave up the advantage of a college education, and joined the Continental army, and met his father in the opposing army, at the battle of Staten Island. He was a civil engineer and surveyor, settled in Acworth 1793, - married first Anna Farwell - children, I. Henry - married Artemisia Westcott - children, 1. Caroline - married Ashbel M. Perry - children, (1) Jane E. II. Milinda - married Horace Frost of Charlestown. - children, 1. Henry 2. Edwin 3. Maria 4. James 5. Lewis - died young. 6. Lewis.
