Parziale ***************************************************************************** Father Cummins’ Birthday Rev. Fr. John F. Cummins observed the 78th anniversary of his birth, Wednesday at his Charles street home. A number of Massachusetts friends were present and enjoyed the dinner hour. Fr. Cummins was born in Charlestown, graduated from the Waltham grammar school, fitted for college at Charlestown high graduated from Boston college in 1872 and was captain and pitcher on his college team. He entered St. Joseph seminary at Troy in 1872 and was ordain- ed by Bishop McInerney in 1875. Thirty-seven years ago he was assigned to build a church at Roslindale at which place he has since held a large past- orate. Fr.
