Feb l3,l806 who went to California and was overseer or superintendent of the
Quicksilver Mine at Almaden.  He d. Aug 22, l867 age 94.  The Independent
Democrat of Concord, NH for Aug 29, l867 published the following notice of
him:
Rev. Jeremiah Day was b. at Preston CT Aug 3, l773 grad. Yale l795.  Was tutor
at Williams College l796 to l798  was apptd prof. of mat and philosphy at Yale
in l808 and President in l8l7 thru to l846.
