Persons of the ADAMS name have been quite numerous in the annals of this town but whether there
was kinship between the several branches of the families, it is unknown.

1. THOMAS1 ADAMS of C., d. before the Revolution; in settling his estate, Capt. Jonathan Willard
purchased July 20, 1774 for £30, lot 8, r. 4, 100 acres in that part of C., set off to L., in
1787.--Cheshire R.of D. Ch. mentioned as heirs
