DANIEL1 ANDERSON, of Deering, N.H., bought Feb. 24, 1815 part of lot 3, r. 6, and lot 3, r. 7 in L., for $2100.00. He settled at or near No. 261 in 1815 and believed to have built the older barns now standing on that farm. He was an industrious, enterprising and successful farmer; at one time he owned 250 acres; was not an aspirant to any public office, declining to serve as moderator, and as tax collector, 1819. He m. Catharine ---. He sold to Levi Jennison, Feb. 7, 1826, and left L. His family record we regret is very deficient. The following res. in town at that period and probably were his family, or near kindred: 2. David1 Anderson, taxed 1815. 3. Daniel2 Anderson, Jr., paid poll, and taxed for one horse, 1825. 4. Samuel1 Anderson, taxed between 1820-24. 5. Hannah1 Anderson witnessed his deed, 1826; perhaps a dau.
