FRED A.1 CATE, b. Biddeford, Me.; m. Carrie Batchelder. 2. Walter Frederick2 Cate (Fred A.1), b. Lynn, Mass., 1880?. He came to L., about 1910; lived on the March Chase farm, No. 31. Removed about 1915, and now (1929) lives in Townshend, Vt. While working on the land near his home in 1912, he found an Indian arrow-head, one of a few, so far as known, ever discovered in this town. He m. May 17, 1910, Clara Louise Lake, b. Saxtons River, Vt., Oct. 31, 1883; dau. of Collin Campbell and Abbie (Holbrook) Lake, of B.F.--See Rockingham, Vt. History, 1907. Ch. b.: i.
