Milton [Parker] Parks, clerk of Captain Austin's cavalry company, died at St. Peter [Nicollet County, MN] on Thursday. He was taken with the black measles, and died in less than twenty-four hours from the first attack. Mr. Parks was an excellent young man and highly esteemed by all who knew him. His remains passed through this place [Mankato] yesterday for Vernon, his former residence. [His grave is in the Garden City Cemetery, Blue Earth County, MN.
