January 4, 1855 (newspaper) Mr. Editor: As the public may be interested by the following report, I have prepared a copy for your Paper of the number of deaths as they occured in this town during the year ending Dec. 31, 1854, and also annexed a list showing the number of each year since Jan. 1, 1850, and the relative age of the persons in the several years, as will be found below. There have been about twenty more deaths in 1854 than in any previous year in town. But the increase has been among children and those under twenty years of age, there being forty-six under twenty years old, upwards of one half of the whole number for the year.
