E. Church was the scene of a merry gathering on Christmas Eve. Mr. Anderson Bourgeois, the sage of the pretty little town five miles away, took a leading part in securing the funds to furnish a great treat and every man, woman and child in Estellville, regardless of religious sect, were presented with confections and fruit. Mrs. J. L. VanTine had charge of the music and the children rendered a pleasing program under the direction of Mr. J. B. Mattison, Superintendent of the M. E. Sabbath School.
