This is an interesting old original document.  On the back is 
handwritten: belongs to John B. Varick, 393 New York Avenue, 
Jersey City.    

It is a printed document with handwritten names and amounts filling
in the blanks.  I have put the handwritten information (with a ? 
following the letters of which I man not sure) in ( ).   

THE COMMISSIONERS OF RIDGE ROAD, IN UNION TOWNSHIP, BERGEN 
COUNTY, NJ.    

Do hereby certify that they are indebted unto (F? S Page) or Bearer
in the sum of (One hundred) dollars with interest thereon at the 
rate of seven per centum per annum, payable by their Treasurer 
at their office in Union Township on the (1st) day of (March) 1875,
and redeemable at the option of the Commissioners.  This certificate
is one of a number of certificates amounting in the aggregate  
to a sum not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars, duly issued by said  
Commissioners, and secured by assessment upon all the lands fronting
upon the line of said Ridge Road, under and by virtue of the provisions
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of New Jersey, passed 
March 6th, 1872 and entitled, "An act to widen, grade and improve
Ridge Road in the Township of Union, in the County of Bergen."    

In Witness whereof, the said commissioners have caused this 
certificate to be attested on their behalf by their chairman, 
Secretary and Treasurer, under their respective hands and seals,
at their office in Union Township, NJ this (1st) day of (March) 
187(3).  (F? A. Pagae) chairman, (Jas. A. McCreery?) Secretary 
(John C. Marm?) Treasurer.
