I Johannes Lazear now resident in New York being through the abundant Mercy and Goodness of God though weak in Body yet Sound and perfect understanding and memory do Constitute this my last Will and Testament and Desire it may be received by all as such. First I most Humbly Bequeath my soul to God my maker beseeching his most gracious Accept= ance thereof through the All sufficient merits and mediations of my most Compassionate Redeemer Jesus Christ, who gave him= self to be an Attonement for my sins and is able to save to the utter= most all who come unto God through him. As to those Worldy goods with which it hath pleased God to Bless me, I give and Dispose of the Same in the following manner. First I will and postively Order that all my Just Debts and funeral charges be justly and honestly paid by my Executors herein after Appointed. I give and Devise unto my Daughter Leah, Wife of Charles De Gray her heirs and Assigns for Ever the sum of ninety pounds current money of New York whereof Twenty five pounds shall be paid unto her, her Heirs or Assigns at the end of six Weeks after my Decease and the rest to be paid unto her or them as aforesaid Twenty five pounds at the end Every year to be moned from the time of the first payment untill the Whole is paid. I give and Devise unto my Daughter Tryntie, late Wife of Abraham Quack= enbush, to be paid unto her heirs viz her Two Children when they arrive to the Ages of Twenty one years the Sum of Eighty pounds to be Equally Divided between them. I give and Devise unto my Daughter Cornelia, Wife of Vanant Sic= kler the sum of Eighty one pounds, to be paid unto her, her heirs or Assigns in the same manner or form as is Directed for my Dau= ghter Leah above said. I give and Devise unto my Daughter Mary, Wife of John van Buskerk, the sum of Eighty pounds to be paid unto her, her heirs or Assigns in the same manner or form of above Directed for Leah. I give and Devise unto my Daughter Margaret, the sum of One Hundred pounds, to be paid unto her, her heirs or Assigns, Twenty - five pounds in One year after my Decease & Twenty five pounds at the end of Each year after untill the whole is paid. But if Margaret should at any Time before the Expiration of the said One year after my Decease be Lawfully Married, then she shall be intituled to her Legacy in said manner and form as is before Directed for Leah. I give and Devise unto my Son Francis Lazear the sum of One Hundred pounds to be paid unto him, his heirs or Assigns in the same manner & Form as is before Directed for Leah. I give unto my Son Nicholas my Large Dutch Bible, valued at three pounds, to be Delivered unto him in Six Weeks after my Decease. I give and Devise unto my Second Son Cornelius Lazear the sum of Ten pounds, to be paid unto him, his heirs or Assigns at the End of two years after my Decease. I give and Devise unto my Son John Lazear one Equal third pard of my Farm or Plantation, lying and being in New Barbadoes precincts in Bergen County, in the Eastern division of the province of New Jersey, to him, his Heirs and Assigns forever. I give and Devise unto my Son Abraham Lazear, one Equal third part of my Plantation or Farm Lying and being as aforesaid, to him, his Heirs and Assigns forever. I give and Devise unto my youngest Son Cornelius Lazear one Equal third part of my Farm or Plantation lying and being as aforesaid, to him, his Heirs and Assigns forever. And it is my Will and Positive Order, that my sons John, Abraham, and Cornelius, last afore mentioned, shall pay to my Sons and Daughters the several legacies according to this my Last Will & Testament. I Will and Order that my Personal or Moveable Estate, valued at the sum of Eighty Seven pounds five shillings, shall be Equally Divided to Each of my Children afore mentioned, six weeks after my Decease. And Lastly I Constitute and Appoint Hendrick Van Voorhasen of Kin= daukemack Farmer & Hendrick Cooper of the same place Blacksmith Executors to this my Last Will and Testament. Sealed and Declared in presence of us. his David van Orden Johannis JL Lazear [SEAL] his mark Cornelius CVH Van Horne mark Prentice Bowen MEMORANDUM that on the first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four David Van Norden & Cornelius Van Horne two of the within Subscribed evidences Appeared before me John Zabriski Junr duely Authorized - and they being duely Sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God on their Oath do declare that they were Present and did see Johnnis Lozier the Testator in the within Will named sign and seal the same and heard him Publish, Pronounce and declare it to be his last will and Testament that at the doing thereof the said Testator was of sound mind and Memory to the best of their Knowledge and so they verily believe and that at the same time Prentice Bowen the other evidence was also Present and Signed his Name as in evidence as they each did in the presence of the said Testator. Jn Zabriski Junr Also that at the same time Hendrick Van Voorhus and Hendrick Cooper the Executors within Named came before me and were duely Justified by taking the oath of Executors as by Law Appointed.
