All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Betty-Lu Burton bigburma@juno.com July 10, 2012, 3:11 pm Written: October 10, 1818 Recorded: December 11, 1818 Samuel J Read To Sarah Lambert New Jersey Land Deed: I 2 Pages 75-76 Dated 10 October 1818: Recorded 11 December 1818 FHL Film# 0842218 This Indenture made the tenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen Between Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife of Mount holly in the county of Burlington and State of New Jersey of the one part and Sarah Lambert the wife of Wilson Lambert of the township of Amwell in the county of Hunterdon which Sarah Lambert is the daughter of Delaplain Ridgway late of Mount holly aforsd decd of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife for & in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in hand paid by the said Sarah Lambert at & before the perfection hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Have given, granted, bargained, sold, aliened released, conveyed & confirmed, and by these presents for themselves &their heirs do absolutely give grant bargain, sell, alien, releases, convey & confirm unto her the said Sarah Lambert and to her heirs and assigns forever All that certain lot or piece of land situate on the westerly side of High street in Mount holly aforesaid and is thus bounded Beginning at a stone on the westwardly side of High street aforesaid corner to a lot of land which the said Samuel J Read & Sarah his wife conveyed in fee to Mary Ridgway and runs thence by the said Mary Ridgway’s lot and bounded therewith south sixty five degrees west four hundred & sixty six feet seven inches to a stake corner to said Mary Ridgway and in the line of land belonging to the estate of Joseph Read dec’d thence by said Read North twenty four degrees west seventy eight feet four inches to a stone in said Reed’s line thence North sixty five degrees East [four] {page 76} Hundred & sixty feet seven inches to a stake or stone on the westwardly side of [High?] street aforesaid thence along the said street south twenty five degrees East [eighty] one feet two inches to the place of Beginning let the contents of land be what it [may] more or less Together with all and singular the hereditaments and [appurtenances] thereunto belonging with the reversions and remainders, rents, issues profits [???] and of every part & parcel thereof and all the estate right, title, interest, use [po??] property, claim and demand whatsoever of them the said Samuel J Read & Sarah his wife and their heirs therein and thereto To Have & to Hold the said lot of land [???] premises as above bounded, limited & described with the appurtenances unto her the said Sarah Lambert her heirs and assigns & to the only proper use benefit and behoof of her the said Sarah Lambert her heirs and assigns forever In witness whereof the said Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day & year above written Signed, Sealed & delivered in the presents of } Saml J Read {seal} Jno Blackwood } Sarah Read {seal} Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of November eighteen hundred & eighteen personally appeared before me the subscriber one of the Judges of the court of common Pleas in and for the county of Burlington Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife the grantors of the before written deed of conveyance [who] acknowledged that they signed sealed and delivered the same for the uses & purposes therein mentioned And the said Sarah being by me examined apart from her husband did acknowledge that she signed sealed & delivered the same as her Voluntary act & deed without any threats or compulsion from her husband Jno Blackwood Recorded December 11, 1818 J M Hucine?
