Dorothea Ridgway
        This Indenture made the tenth day of October in the year of our Lord 
one thousand eight hundred and eighteen Between Samuel J. Read of Mount Holly 
in the County of Burlington & State of New Jersey and Sarah his wife of the 
one part and Dorothea Ridgway widow {cannot read} of Delaplaine Ridgway late 
of the same place dec’d of the other part Witness that the said Samuel J Read 
& Sarah his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one dollar to them in 
hand paid by the said Dorothea Ridgway {??} and before the perfection here of 
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged {He??}

given granted, bargained, sold, released, conveyed & confirmed and by these 
presents do absolutely give grant, bargain & sell alien enfeoff, release, 
convey and confirm unto the said Dorothea Ridgway in her actual possession now 
being and to her heirs & assigns forever A certain dwelling house & lot of 
land stituate on the westwardly side of High street in the town of Mount Holly 
aforesaid adjoining land, belonging to the estate of Joseph Read dec’d and is 
thus bounded Beginning at a stone corner to a lot of land conveyed by the said 
Samuel J Read unto Mary Ridgway Standing on the westwardly side of High street 
aforesaid and {??} thence by the said Mary Ridgway’s lot south sixty five 
degrees west four hundred and sixty six feet seven inches to a stake in the 
line of land, belonging to the estate of  the said Joseph Read deceased thence 
by the same south twenty four degrees East seventy eight feet four inches to a 
stake corner to said Read thence by the said Read North sixty five degrees 
East four hundred and sixty six feet seven inches to a stake on the westwardly 
side of said street corner to said Read thence along the said street North 
twenty five degrees west eighty one feet two inches to the place of Beginning 
let the contents of land be what it may more or less Together with all & 
singular the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging with the 
reversions and remainders rents issues & profits thereof and of every part & 
parcel thereof and all the estate right, title, interest claim & demand 
whatsoever of them the said Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife and their heirs 
therein and thereto To have and to hold the aforesaid house and lot of land 
above bounded and described with the appurtenances unto the said Dorothea 
Ridgway her heirs and assigns To the only proper use benefit and behoof of her 
the said Dorothea Ridgway her heirs and assigns forever In Witness whereof the 
said Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals 
the day & year first herein written

Be it remembered that on the fourteenth Day of November in the year of our 
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen personally appeared before me the 
subscriber one of the Judges of the court of Common Pleas in & for the county 
of Burlington Samuel J Read and Sarah his wife the grantors of the before 
written deed of conveyance who acknowledged that they signed sealed and 
delivered the same for the uses & purposes therein mentioned: and the said 
Sarah being by me examined separate and apart from her husband acknowledged 
that she signed, sealed & delivered the same as her voluntary act & deed 
without any threats or compulsion from her husband
