Wills 12255C, will 1806 William Chapman, Sr. Recorded in book A, page 147 in the Surrogates office of the County of Burlington. I William Chapman of the township of Chesterfield in the County of Burlington and state of New Jersey Miller being of perfect and sound mind and memory do make and order this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows. First I will that all my just debts and Funeral charges be paid as soon as conveniently can be after my Decease out of my estate by my Executor hereafter named. Item. I give and bequeath to my two eldest sons Lewis Chapman and William Chapman each five pounds a piece now I having given them their shares before. Item. I give and begquest to my daughter Rebeckah Chapman my best Bed and beding thereto belonging and one beaurow. Item. I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Margaret Chapman my next best Bed and beding thereto belonging. Item My Will is that all the remainder of my estate both real and personal be sold by my Executor as soon as may be convenient after my Decease hereby Impowering him to give in full clear and good titles therefore as I could have done if present and done it with my own hand and the money arising from said sales after paying the above mentioned debts and legacies to be equally divided between my four children hereafter named to wit: Aaron Chapman, Isaac Chapman, Theodosia Mitten, and Rebecka Chapman. And for the just Execution hereof I do appoint my son William Chapman sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this ninth day of the eighth month eighteen hundred and four.
