West-Jersey pioneer. (Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: April 19, 1856
Died near Blackwoodtown on the 24th ult., Mr. Peter Cheesman, better known
throughout his neighborhood as Major Cheesman, aged 85 years, 6 mo’s., and 7 days.
The dec’d. lived to see the fourth generation of descendants, his posterity
numbering as follows: 16 children, 68 grand children, 47 great grand children, 1
great great grand child.
